NVIDIA Releases GeForce 457.09 WHQL Drivers

NVIDIA today released the GeForce 457.09 WHQL drivers. The drivers come "game ready" (optimized) for Watch_Dogs Legion, DiRT 5, Ghostrunner, and NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered. The biggest change has to be support for the new GeForce RTX 3070 which goes on sale today. The drivers also add G-Sync support for Acer XB323U GX, ASUS VG279QL1A, Dell AW2521HFLA and Gigabyte FI25F displays. Among the bugs fixed with this release are a crash-to-desktop seen with "For Honor," a random flicker observed on G-Sync multi-monitor setups when playing back YouTube or Twitch at 144 Hz; a black screen observed during game launch on displays with DSC enabled, and a bug with Freesync displays where half the screen goes blank with G-Sync enabled. Random flicker may occur in multi-monitor configurations when G-SYNC is enabled.
Flickering occurs on Dell S2417DG and Dell S2716DG monitors.when playing YouTube or Twitch videos at 144 Hz. [3147515]
[Forza Motorsport 7]: The game may crash to the desktop when starting a race. [200660345]
Users may see a black screen when launching a game on a monitor using DSC (Display Stream Compression). [200661231]

MicroCenter stores had plenty in stock also. They actually had more available than there were people in line. Store's were reporting availability of 100-200 cards.

Especially after the RX 6000 series announcement yesterday, it just does not compute in my head. :kookoo:

I can already hear the shareholders criticizing AMD / NVIDIA for not charging according to the current market situation.

There is a microcenter discord channel that has threads for every store and from what I can tell every store got at least 100 cards. Some of the higher volume stores like Tustin, CA had over 200.

What 3080 issues? The instability issues when clocks got higher than 2GHZ on some cards? That was fixed for the most part in the last driver. They just refined the boosting so it didnt get much higher than 2GHZ.

This was resolved with the second RTX 3080 driver, 456.38.

My FTW3 does still boost above 2 GHz (when undervolted to around 900+ mv), but from what I know it has the revised PCB.

Installed this driver and play Ghostrunner and Watch dogs Legion with all bell and whistle on my 2080 Ti and they are butter smooth, frametimes are very consistent.

Unfortunately, I have a pretty bad bug for my use case. This driver, whatever they did with DSC, completely breaks my ability to use the CAC-1085 Displayport->HDMI 2.1 adapter from club3d with a turing card. It's as bad as AMD I ran away from.

Why, NVIDIA?

Why, NVIDIA?

It is the same for me, had to roll back to an older driver version (432.00, installs with the Nvidia Control Panel from the Microsoft Store), in order to still be able to choose 3840x2160 @ 120hz
Any hope that this will be remedied in a future update?
