The Ampere owners club - 30xx series

Here's my Palit rtx 3080 gamingpro non OC that I got 2 weeks after launch.

That’s a nice looking card, too bad we can’t get Palit cards here in America. Congrats mate!
You can, but I think they're called Galax or KFA2 over there ;)

Ironically you can get KFA2 in the UK too but not Gainward or Galax. Sad I remember them fancy artwork on Gainward on 9000 series.

Appreciate it mate, they are my go to brand apart from EVGA for Nvidia GPUs as they are generally "underrated" brand compared to others and Wizzard always give them a positive review.

My RTX3080 purchased directly from EVGA arrived this evening. It was a tight fit in the Define 7 Compact with the front-mounted radiator.

There seems to be more availability popping up for founder edition cards past few weeks.
My older brother initially bought the 3070 but wasn't too pleased to not have any LED on the geforce text and he wanted more just bit more fps playing monster hunter so he then bought a 3080 when they became available and got it the following week(ordered on Thursday last week).
I've decided to buy his 3070 which will be going into my GF pc which will be a very nice bump from 1660 super.

I did finally get my Msi 3080 Ventus 3X 10 OC :rockout:.I it did take 57days to get...The card is great it boosts to 2130 so im happy .

Didn’t pay MSRP but I’m still happy with it:)
Bought for my 1440p monitor. Love these frames. Clocks boost up to 1995mhz

this threads so quiet due to lack of owners, lol

that top intake is just getting yeeted right back outside, can you move that front top fan back further?

I can yeah, just haven't got round yet. I'll probably do it after replacing the CPU cooler as its too tall for the Carbide 240, which is my own fault when I didn't check for clearance when I bought it lol.

Yeah. I can get fleeced (not for me), buy a 'picture' of a 3080 for MSRP, or easily buy a 3090 (which I feel is a waste of money, for me).

You all enjoy those cards, though.

Edit: Scan, in the UK has all of these RTX3090's. Clearly, they're not getting as much love as Nvidia had hoped.

All sold out..... A few hours. Insane.

Ugh i paid for 1 day shipping and its been most of a day, whyyyyyy isn't it here

(1 day shipping is a joke here in aus. it's very likely NOT to arrive in 1 day, but on a $2k order the extra $5 was trivial)
Back of my GPU has a solid plate over it, wonder what resistor setup it'll have

3080 arrived and installed

PCI-E power plugs are inverted and REALLY tight together, so i gotta be artistic to make the RGB cables fit (this is pre-wiring tidy up, FYI. It's triggering my OCD, even if the missing front panel was a big clue)

wooo....the Waterblock doesn't fit inside my Lian Li 011 case it seems, the soft tubes are there temporarily while I test out the GPU

Timespy score seems good, this TUF 3090 OC might be a good clocker

Nice pics everyone! Love all of your builds, now that more cards are hitting the channel I'm glad more people are enjoying Ampere, it's a monster of an architecture, and with Cyberpunk finally out, it's breathtaking to finally experience what next gen feels like.

Here are pics of my updated rig, I tried for the longest time to get a Ryzen 5900x, my PC has been long overdue for an upgrade, and was really hoping to go team AMD this time, but alas, it was not to be, as between it selling out in seconds on release, and bots grabbing what little stock has trickled since, I got tired of trying to get a 5900x, and I wouldn't have been able to update my PC in time for Cyberpunk.

At 4K resolutions though this CPU is not a bottleneck at all, found an awesome deal at Newegg for black Friday, when buying it in a combo with the Asus mobo I saved over $200 over MSRP for both after MIRs, and it really allows the 3090 to stretch it's legs, the new 360mm AIO keeps the CPU chill at 63 even after hours of gaming, so it boosts to 5.2GHz on all cores pretty much all the time. My card is also hovering in the lower 60s too and boosting to 1910MHz pretty much the whole time.

The Radiator positioning triggers my OCD, I'd swap the two around and have the GPU's Radiator hoses at the bottom front, with the CPU's Radiator at the top.

GPU puts out triple the wattage of the CPU, it's going exhaust

Can't believe it's taken me this long to find the club, I've had my TUF 3080 since the 21st of September!

Frikken love the card, it's an absolute powerhouse with any task I can throw at it, plus it runs cool and quiet. Blows me away how much of an improvement it is in all of these regards over my GTX1080.

Current setup pictured below, with more context around the build if you want it here

Was about to post some undervolting with my 3090 in your Ampere undervolting experiment :D
So the undervolting with my 3090 goes like this, I set up 4 undervolt at 800mV, 850mV, 900mV and 950mV

Tested in Watch Dogs Legion
Clock - Voltage - Power usage - FPS
1860mhz - 800mV - 255W - 83fps
1950mhz - 850mV - 292W - 86fps
2010mhz - 900mV - 313W - 87fps
2070mhz - 950mV - 342W - 89fps

850mV seems to be my go to undervolt for best performance at reasonable power consumption :D

Damn looks like you did fairly well in the silicon lottery! How's it treating you for noise and thermals?
