MSI has registered as many as eight custom models based on the NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards with the EEC. Like always, a product registration with this legal body doesn't automatically mean that all models do enter the market - sometimes these are registered in bulk by companies with models that they are planning on releasing and models that they think they might want to release at one point in time, just so that they only enter the paperwork once. However, these entries by MSI are interesting, particularly, because they mention a new MSI model that's likely reserved for below enthusiast-level graphics cards: there are two Twin Fan models (one OC, one absent of it).

All in all, these are the eight models that MSI registered: GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming X Trio; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming Trio; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X OC; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 3X; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X OC; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2X; GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Twin Fan OC; and the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Twin Fan. Current information places the RTX 3060 Ti as using the same 392 mm², 17.4 B transistor GA104 chip as the RTX 3070, albeit under the GA104-200 nomenclature; the chip is expected to leverage 4,864 CUDA cores, 152 Tensor Cores, and 38 RT Cores (the RTX 3070 features 5888, 184, and 46 of these respectively). This makes out a 21% difference in number of execution units, which certainly won't make out to a full 21% performance difference. The card is expected to launch on December 2nd.

Eight models of the 3060 Ti. Eight. For one single GPU... from a single AIB partner.

This is stupid.

This is absurd, i doubt that this 3060 ti will be priced reasonable, it's not that people can't afford them, it's just unreasonable high prices for a video card.

What a waste, why are there 3 fans needed for this card, only 2 fan rtx3060 ti cards will do just fine.

Frankly I'd discard six of the eight SKUs just because their mere existence gives me headaches...

Make that seven.

Here starts from 850, but pretty fast goes to 1000. 3080 starts from 1200 and goes up to 1600, hahaha. 3090 goes for 3000... prices are...

Looks like I will not buy 3070 or 3080 because of high prices. Same thing will happen with amd...

I guess will need to survive 1 or 2 years without pc.

These would so sweet if they were sold at the same price as the 2060. Even sweeter at ~$300.
But 3070's $500 MSRP means that won't be the case. These will go for ~400 :(

As much as I'd like a 3060 Ti, 1. Given the 30 series existence thus far, or rather lack thereof, these will be all bought up by bots/scalpers within hours of it launching, 2. said scalpers will then resell them for the price of a lung and/or kidney, and 3. considering the 3070's price point, I don't see the 3060Ti anywhere near the $300-$350 price point.

I really don't get it. Three perhaps I could understand - one cheapest skimpiest possible, one standard and one with RGB GAMING slapped across every square centimeter of the shroud. But 8. Eight SKUs for one and same mid-tier VGA. Dealing with MSI over the years, 95% of stock will be of lowest, most discounted quality parts possible.

Seems that MSI is on the quest to fool users with all the PR marketing departament strength there is.

I avoid MSI products like a Nurgle Plague.

These registration often include models that they might decide to release in the future, it doesn't mean that they will actually release all models. For example Sapphire registered the names 5950XT and basically all possible names AMD would use if they released GPUs above the 5700XT, and i think Gigabyte also had registered a lot of models for RTX 2000 that they never used, which happens often. In general these registrations are a sign that the launch of a product is getting closer, but many models listed often don't get released.

Why are they ruining the ti name with these lower tear ti's?

Ruining, really? Bit of an arrogant statement, I think. Because I think we can all agree, especially those of us who can't afford big- money cards (which is subjective, I know. But for me personally, anything over $400 I consider big money), that these "lesser" Ti models allow us poor folks to be included in the whole "exclusivity" of the Ti series when we would otherwise not be able to afford it.

8 models? My cerebrum is herniating out of my ears just thinking about thinking about that. Like... 8 friggin x60 ti cards? How many ways can you really slice the entry/midrange market? You've already got what, 3 other competing die/mem configurations in immediate vicinity, right? How many x50, x50 ti and, x60 SKUs will there be? o_O

Never mind once you start to consider the competition. And the remaining models of the family (vanilla 3060, vanilla 3070, 3070 Ti, vanilla 3080, etc.)

3060 ti will be 1440 gaming. 3060 1080 and 1440 gaming. 3050 and ti 1080 only. Looks like 3050 ti will cost from 250 up to 300

My only question is what's the f-ing point of releasing multiple SKUs when the only difference between em is slightly improved cooling and boost clocks? Just make couple variations, one with 3 fan and other - 2 fan solutions and leave untouched clocks headroom for enthusiasts to tinker even more.
