Let me guess, COVID? Nowadays when there's a problem people just say "You know, Covid."

Cause it is pretty much the problem in a nutshell? Higher tech demand from being trapped at home coupled with record low output. Like, duh?

So the new tech trend..

Firstly blame covid.

Then have a limited number of consoles , graphics cards cpus....

So people wait ages ....

It's completely due to Covid, this isn't some shift the buck blame trend. Some of us were warning you about this 9 months ago...

I saw no chance for me to get pc parts for upgrade any time soon, so decided at least to try my luck in upgrading the couch gaming setup. Luckily got my XsX from MS site (f u scalpers) and paired it up with Q90T for some nice 120Hz VRR gameplay where it's supported. Maybe pc parts situation will improve by summer, but for now I'll play newer titles on X if my current PC turns out less capable than I need (6700k and 1080 are getting quite old!).

Yeah people seem to forget that even basic things as power supplies can be hard to get now.
We can move on and joke about it or spread crazy theories about manufacturers trying to scalp actual users.

I had to replace a power supply earlier this year and it was difficult to find one in stock with the requirements I needed. Also most of the consoles have been in low stock at my local stores here, especially the Switch.

PC building and gaming this year has really skyrocketed due to both COVID and new products.

You're not all correct, it would make sense to have delays and difficulties in the few first months when the industry was taken by surprise but now it has been an year since "the virus" and this excuse due to COVID is all BS imo and it is the general excuse for everything. You need to learn to have a mind of your own not just what the media blasts in your face.

It's been a year of shortened production and increased demand with no answer to the woes, yep. Do the logical math on what that means (it's how you "have a mind your own"). This isn't rocket science.

Paying a scalper 10 000$ or whatever for a 3090 at least gets you something that is technically the best that there is for playing games, but paying 10 000$ for something that ... isn't, now that's truly unfathomably stupid.
You have to be special stupid to buy 3090 for 10,000. I mean incredibly special special stupid.
