Hello guys i just changed my older CPU (i3 7100) for a i3 9350kf and i've been experiencing some temp issues, i have a intel coolerbox that i used on the old i3 (i also applied thermal paste), motherboard and GPU stays fine at around 40 degrees but CPU was 65 on idle and peak 100degrees gaming and the screen even freezed one time and i had to reboot the pc, then i reattached my intel cooler box and now it stays around 45-50 on idle but still on 90 and almost 100 degrees while gaming, is this a cpu problem or should i buy another cooler for cpu? i dont have budget for a water cooler atm (i reinstalled windows 20m ago and it seems like the temp its 5 degrees lower but still hot i think)

Current setup:
i3 9350kf
GTX 1060 6gb
Asus h310m-e
8GB RAM

the 9350kf is a 91 watt tdp cpu, the 7100 is a 50 watt tdp cpu, so yes, it will run hotter

a inexpensive aftermarket heatsink like the hyper 212 will be plenty to keep the 9350 cool

i could buy one of these two, i live in brazil so things here are quite expensive, do you think that would handle 9350kf and make it cooler?

I know nothing about Rise Mode or thier products, but as long as they have good build quality, I'd guess either of those heat sink would work. Personally, I'd go with the G700 for the dual fans.

tysm for help i'll buy a new heatsink and if i remember i can come here and tell the results.
if you haven't checked out there is the snowman cooler on aliexpress for cheap that has roughly the same performance as the hyper 212 evo. You can check TechYesCity video about that

I've brought a Coolermaster hyper h410r and i've been experiencing lower temps, but still get high sometimes on some games and in the last 2 hours my PC rebooted and now the temps for some reason is 80c on idle, and im afraid of doing anything. i think i should just call product warranty but at the same time im afraid the problem is on the new mobo

Are you connecting the fans to the CPU Fan header on your motherboard? Going into Power Plan and Change Settings and set it to Active so it will increase your fan speeds with temperatures. Or alternatively you will also be able to set fan speeds in your BIOS via presets or Manual settings of your choosing using temperature points

If you have been messing around with your cooling system before your temps started shooting up on you, you may want to double-check to be sure you have the cooling fan plugged into its header properly. If your plug is a 3 pin plug and you're plugging into a 4 pin header you could have missed the proper alignment, and are plugged into the wrong 3 pins. of course, if any of what I just said is true simply looking at your fan to be sure it's spinning would be a good indicator. If you're using an AIO setup, it can go unnoticed, so the temps would be a good indicator as well as the RMP gauge for your water pump. In my case, I have an issue where I'm on the correct 3 pins of a 4 pin header, but just a slight wiggle or bump of the wires leading to my water pump plug will cause my water pump to stop pumping water. I think one of the pins could be bent somewhat, and causing a loss of connection on that pin in the Molex. I have to be careful whenever I open my case to check my gauges afterward, if I don't, my CPU temp will shoot up so high it will shut the CPU down without any warning what so ever. I'm using an ASUS motherboard at the moment, and it's motherboard software does not have an alarm that I can set for high temp. Well it does have a setting, but it's doesn't sound an alarm if I set the limits on it, it only shows that reading in red, so I have to have the software running and looking at the numbers in order to know. The UEFI BIOS has an audible alarm,, but only if I am booting up will it warn me, if I'm already in WIndows it'll not trigger. My MSI motherboard I had prior to this ASUS board, had alarms I can set for any measured item that it reads from the motherboard, and it'll go off in Windows. I'm surprised the ASUS software does not. They need to catch up with MSI in this regard.

Also, be sure you have applied enough thermal paste between your heat-sink and your CPU, since you mentioned you just replaced your cooling system, it's possible you may not have re-applied any new paste between the two.

i've already set max speed on BIOS, i've noticed when i turn on the pc the temps stays on the 35/45degrees medium and after 5 minutes pops to 80 and stays like that. i have just reattached the coolerbox but it doesnt seems like its loose or somethin like that

i've reattached the coolerbox to make sure everything was right, and even followed a video step by step on how to properly attach it, and it looked the very same as the video. im thinking on also reattach the CPU but i don't know if this would change anything im not sure if there is a "wrong way" to attach a cpu

another thing, i noticed my cpu for some fucking reason is on 100% like all the time i really confused now. the temps suddenly went down and its not on 100% anymore its back on 35/40c but at gaming obviously i know it going to hit higher temps again (max i got with 100% atm was 90c)

Okay every time you adjust/remove it. You pretty much have to redo the thermal paste because you have “ruined” the bond now you‘ve just installed it so while I would use fresh paste you could maybe(depending on the paste) respread it using a a fear edge like a credit or I would cut a piece out of a plastic blister pack to spread paste. If you have a tube of paste just wipe off the old paste(I highly recommend a coffee filter its a ver excellent lint free cloth) Apply a small pea sized dab of paste in the midd of the cpu and “test mount” it by applying pressure as though it was fastened the remocevan see that you have nice even coverage(if it’s “close“ the actual proper mounting should spread the paste out more under full mounting pressure.
You’ve already dealt with the fans so your paste application is all that’s left to do help with temps.

if it’s at 100% all the tI’ve you maybe want to check the power plan you’re ‘re using in my previous screenshot you “can” use High Performance but as in my picture you can see minimum and maximum processor states. Adjusting the minimum to 5% will let it clock down when not needed

i've respreaded the thermal paste and actually is getting cooler than before, i wasnt reaching 35c before it. i just found some guys with similar problems with 9 gen intel cpu and i've been told to disable the turbo boost, thats what i'll try to do it now. i've set minimum state on power plan to 5% now (it was 100% before)

Yes lowering the Power State "should" make it clock down and only use full clocks when needed. You shouldn't have to disable Turbo unless you have adjusted the BIOS to say disable Speed Step for example which setting to 5% would let is "step down" as it should

i guess either disabling the turbo or the 5% on power worked, i tested temps with doom eternal and the highest temp i got was 75c, and the intel benchmarking went really well also, i usually to get 100degrees and the higher was 86 this time

Well as long as it's clocking up when needed and down when it's not I think that should be fine
