The Kingston KC2500 promises to offer higher transfer rates than the Kingston KC2000, which it is based on. Due to a new firmware, Kingston was able to unlock additional performance. We measured almost 3 GB/s in writes and well above that in reads.

I think a controller is designed to run up to 80 degrees on heavy load, and chips for storage themself should be at an avg of 50 degrees. Am i right?

Better than its predecessor in synthetics, but the same irl. Almost like the firmware updates were geared towards benchmarks.

If it's only a Firmware update, then the previous model should be capable of the same speeds.

It wouldn't. Firmware is the differentiator on virtually every SSD ever made. It makes trade-offs in latency vs throughput, power saving vs responsiveness and such.

You do know firmware can be updated, right?

I’d love to see some nearly full drive benches, like 70% full drives. Because my SX8200 Pro 1TB slows down to a crawl when I move around small files (it hangs for 3-30 seconds either at the middle or at the end of the transfer), and I have ~350gb free.
When I had ~600gb free it wasn’t that slow doing the same move around.

probably, but is there anything in public that lets you save the firmware to file? and what software do you use to flash?
