so i got my hands on a 3060 XC and i installed the latest drivers with the "recommended" preset.
DDUd, no Internet Connection, blocked updates and installed.

after the installation i get massive artifacts in games, on the desktop and in the browser.
i get black screens like with a 5700XT in the earlier days and i even had a BSOD.

DDU again, normal driver from their website, everything runs fine.

DDU Again.. Using NVCleanstall (yes.. the latest version fresh downloaded from TPU) and all the issues from above are back.

@W1zzard. You may want to take a look at this.

Out of curiousity, what options did you use in the final screen? Any experimental ones?

Interesting .. not even sure how in theory that could happen. NVCleanstall always installs the NVIDIA display driver.

That?

That?
i open NVCleanstall (i use this tool since the first version)
i pick the recommended option and on the last screen i do not touch anything. no "turn off ads/telemetry".. nothing. just install, wait until it's finished and close NVCleanstall.

Could this be caused by NVcleaninstall not selecting the latest driver? I noticed the last time I ran it the other day it didn't give me the latest version of the driver, I had to manually download the latest one and point NVcleaninstall to the downloaded driver.

it is the latest one.

@W1zzard
found the culprit.

it is resizeable BAR.

with NVCleanstall it's still MUCH worse than with the "stock" drivers but when i disable it in the Bios the problems are gone.
much higher! Framerates, much more Stable System and no more heavy artifacting and black screens.

but i still suspect that NVCleanstall still has some influence on the stability with Re-Bar.

That's strange, when I run NVCleanInstall it still is offering me 461.72, 461.81 is the latest.

one of the optional things that never did much, must be involved with ReBar somehow

Interesting, NVCleanstall doesn't modify anything that could affect ReBAR, maybe additional components need to be installed when using ReBAR?

Yeah, that. But looking at the packages, none seems related

Could GPU Boost be related to the issue?

No, GPU Boost has been an essential part of the product for almost a decade
i installed the drivers now a few times and tested different games and applications.

Re-Bar Off:
OG Drivers = No Problems.

NVCleanstall "recommended" = no Problems.

Games with both: Fine

Re-Bar On:
OG Drivers = random black bars "flickers" over the screen (horizontally) for just a few miliseconds. nothing else.
(might be a known issue with some turing cards from two weeks ago that are addressed by NVidia in their Forum)

NVCleanstall = corrupted colorful lines on the screen (completely random and not reproduceable), Blackscreens when ALT+Tab in Games, heavy crashes and system lockups in Games that use much VRAM like Warzone that fills the VRAM completely
and massive stuttering + slowdown.

No Drivers at all:
100% functional and error free. (with and without Re-Bar)
