The RX 6000 series Owners' Club

Ok, you’re putting me to a rest a bit as vulkan was good on my previous 1080, but on 6800xt DX12 works normal, while vilkan drops usage heavily. Although vulkan was always better around loading game zones. Dx12 always stutters while you move into next map section.
So, after having switched back to DX12, I started getting crashes again about every 15 minutes of gameplay. This was the original reason I switched to Vulkan in the first place. The good news, is that after terrible initial performance with Vulkan, I have switched back and it appears to be running flawlessly again just like with my Vega. Framerates are a little better too.

DOesn't work for me. Every time I switch to Vulkan I have fps drops with drops in gpu usage (down to 50% in specific area) which are not present in DX12 (but I can't use AB with it for monitoring). Btw if you switch - delete sga and temp files in Settings folder.

Interesting. I did not delete those. After switching, my fps went from mid-70s on DX12 to low 80's on Vulkan. It's a little more than margin of error so I won't say anything was from the switch. I have had notorious problems with RDR2. I couldn't play online for 4 months after it was released. When I could get online, I would crash instantly or my camp wouldn't spawn.

Also, if all you are using is afterburner for monitoring, I switched to HwInfo. It uses RTSS just like afterburner but you can add way more metrics.

Well I'll be damned. I just tried to disable resizable bar and RDR2 Vulkan now didn't experience the drops I had before. WTF, I thought it was all fixed by now. Wonder if it's my asus b560-i to blame (latest bios is installed) or amd driver doesn't properly work with Rocket lake cpus. But at the same time DX12 was totally fine.

I’ll be damned twice. I turned it back on and had no drops on Vulkan now when tried again. BIOS bug? who knows. I wonder now if I can run afterburner without issues and whether my undervolting could be further improved. Who knows how that was affecting stability before.

And ... we got a couple of new World Records today with Powercolor Red Devil Ultimate 6900xtx-h clock speed at 3306Mhz ~ 3274Mhz ( highest core clock in the world for a gpu benchmark stable ) and highest ever 3dmark Firestrike Extreme score. It was done by none the less the good guys OGS from Greece , congratulations on such a huge achievement. Absouletely Massive score

One can only wonder why AMD choose to limit the max clocks probably knowing very well how great the 6000 chips are for overclocking :kookoo:
AMD should acknowledge this mistake and release some unlocked bioses for all cards, that would spark a overclocking craze and would only be good free publicity for them. But well, AMD and marketing....... :D

They will, once the 3080Ti comes out.

Mmmmm, beat my all time TimeSpy score by quite some points :D

Almost 21k with a 6800XT, not bad

And Firestrike also went insane :D

What changed? RAM?

Mainly I think the Liquid Metal on the GPU, last test where with "normal" paste, also a fresh Windows install done yesterday, not sure how much that impacted it.
Another thing worth mentioning, my Win 10 was 2 years "old" and was running the 1usmus CPU powerplan, that was ok for my previous 3800X, but I think hampered the 5800X a bit. I get higher FPS in everything without that powerplan and simply using the windows high perf plan.
Vs the last scores, also managed to up memory from 3733 to 3800mhz, but don't think that influenced it that much.
GPU memory for the above scores was at 2100, I think I can fine tune it a bit more, but its just a benchmark, not that interested in wasting more time on it.
What I find funny in a way, checked 3DMark hall of fame, my Firestrike Graphics score is I think the second best in that list for a 6800XT, but might be wrong :D

In my case, my scores are always pulled down by the combined test in Fire Strike. Oddly, I always end up with lower combined test scores even if I get high graphics and CPU scores separately. Your graphics score should be #77.

Is there a way to sort Firestrike scores based on Graphics Results? That's why I said no.2, had no real way to sort them based on Graphics only

You can. Click “Results,” not “ Hall of Fame”.

Cool, thx, not a 3D Mark expert :)
According to that list for 6800XT's in Firestrike Graphic Score only, my latest score is on number 21 :D (60370) ...that is if I am not reading/sorting the list wrongly again

I really love my rx 6800, still wish I could have got the XT though. I have had 0 issues with mine, a couple games like WoW seem to get error messages after 1-2 hours of gameplay... but with Re-BAR turned off, those go away... honestly wish they never did SAM... it was a headache figuring out that was the problem. I miss consoles for this reason alone.

Have not had crashing issues with ReBar, only some few games who had minor negative scaling with it on. It's a "new" feature, give it some time, should get better and better for all of us with time.
Feel the same about my 6800 XT, have not loved a GPU that much since the HD 4870 back in the day :)

I only had crashing issue in WoW, every other game (many others in fact as I hope around games a lot) was just fine. WoW is just finnicky I guess.

Ah man, I get you. I seem to have problem with rebar on my system too. It leads to gpu utilization drops in rdr2, which either disappear if I turn it off, or if I turn off, restart, turn on - play. But on the next system startup the drops will get back and I have to repeat process. Plus I’m nit sure if some crashes I had aren’t caused by it as well. I run latest bios, tried various setting, drivers even did a full windows reinstall now, but all roads lead to rebar. Makes me want to just give up, sell it and use my Series X going forward for gaming.

I was among the early ones with SAM enabled (with a Zen 2 CPU), and it has been issue free since day 1, other than negative scaling in some games, but the cards are so fast at rasterized games that negative scaling is not noticeable. I understand those with RX 6800 cards wanting the RX 6800 XT, I was the same when I'd gotten an Nitro+ RX 6800, but wanted more POWAH!

Was waiting for the MERC319 RX 6900 XT when there was an issue with my CC (otherwise, I'd be happier with the MERC319, NOT that it's a better card than my Nitro+, it's just that the former would have saved me 140USD), but I have no regrets as the Nitro+ is a mighty fine card (just wished it looked different from the Nitro+ RX 6800 which it replaced, It's like I'd not changed anything physically as they looked so similar).

Does anyone know the thickness of the thermal pads used on the 6800 XT Red Devil? I think they are 1mm and 1.5mm but not 100% sure.

Therefore the answer is NO....
I cancelled my 6900 XT because of this :(

(The truth is I cancelled it because I paid scalpers price and thought fuggum. I'm not being ripped off)

No idea, but CAN IT RUN CRYSIS?
I heard the 6800 can do at least 300FPS. 720 Ultra low settings that is...

Wholeheartedly agree, I would also never pay scalper prices, the moment you do, you give scalpers the ok to continue and present your behind for their pleasure :)
