Is there a program that can tell what type of NAND from the SSD that I am using.

I think that the current 4tb m.2 SSD that I am using is QLC instead of TLC like it says.
Its the Adata XPG SPECTRIX S40G 4tb that I am using that really sucks.
I store all of my games on this drive so I can have everything in 1 location. Its used in a laptop.

You can try "SSD-Z: Information tool for Solid State Drives and other disk devices"; however, I do not, believe, it has been updated for a few years.

What do I click on to get that info. I am clicking on anything I can find.

From what i am seeing it's Micron 3D TLC how ever how reliable toms is as they say max size is 2TB :).

It doesnt perform like a TLC drive, more of the QLC drive. Its an adata SSD, it seems they have done a switch on their other SSDs this year.

Under the left hand menu, "Storage" > "ATA" > Under the "Device Description" the drive you want to look at.

I found it thank you.

What a POS drive, it doesnt have much info, but the Seagate that I use lists all the info.

It says TLC but it performs like a QLC drive. After lots of writes it slows down to 100-200mb/s. The seagate that I use stays at over 1gb. No wonder it was cheap.

You realize almost all of that info isn't stored on the drive, it's read from a database maintained by AIDA. It makes sense that the seagate drive is better maintained in their database, as it is a more well known brand.

How much data are you writing? It should remain at full speed for well over 500GB of data written, unless the drive is overheating that is...

It starts to drop after 50gb written. It goes up and down, all over the place. I've never seen a nvme ssd do such wild swings in speed.

Does the speed look similar to this? It probably could be overheating considering it's used in a laptop which has worse cooling. Also is it running with a heatsink?

It has a small copper cooler. I'm fine with it, it runs my less than played games and use it to store movies/shows.
