Newb trying to get to 3200MHz

This will probably be a repeated question, and a dumb newb question, so I apologize in advance.

My system only seems to be clocking the memory at 2133MHz, no matter what settings I've tried messing with. I only know enough to damage something, so I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible. I have no desire to OC everything. I just want my memory to run at or near 3200MHz if possible. If not, I'd just like to identify what the issue is, be it hardware or software incompatibility, wrong settings, etc. I have the most updated BIOS version. A-XMP is enabled, and I've tried both profile options. I have not messed with any voltages or timing. I'll put some screenshots up for reference.

 
Are those vengeance memory fully compatible with ryzen from the Corsair website? Corsair has been a huge problem with vengeance ram on ryzen platforms. If there is no ryzen badge, sell them.
 
Do you know how to save settings in the uefi bios. What does the DOCP/AMP profiles give you for the memory?

Yes, I make sure to hit "save changes and reboot" before leaving BIOS, if that's what you mean. The 2 profiles are:

Profile1: DDR4 2933MHz 16-18-18-36
Profile2: DDR4 3200MHz 16-18-18-36

But no matter which one I select, my readings in Hwinfo64 are
Clock - 1066.4 MHz Mode- Dual Channel CR-2T
Timing 15-15-15-36 tRC 51 tRFC 374

Edit: I've looked at the DRAM calculator, but it mights well be in Greek to me.
 
If those are indeed 4x dual rank sticks and you're trying to cram 8 ranks on two channels, and overclock them on 2700x then good luck. It might be easier to find the top stable frequency, whether it is 2666, 2993, or whatever then try tightening timings. Corsair Vengeance hates Ryzen, but you should be able to manually tune. My wife has that same mobo and 64GB (4x16) of CJR but she's running a 5800x. Pretty sure also that board is series (daisy chained) so 4 sticks is even harder to OC.

My plans for the next week or two are to upgrade to a 5800X and new cooler, and get some new 3600MHz RAM, but I want to make sure I'll get full performance from the RAM before I spend the money. I never considered the difference between running 2 pairs of 16gb sticks. I didn't think it mattered.

Not to say you can't do it, but you have two factors working against you.

Series circuit RAM slot layout (daisy chain) motherboards prefer 2 slots filled over 4, but even with 4 you can usually just overvolt them to make up for signal drop.

The memory controller on the Ryzen 2700x is designed for up to two 2933MT/s single rank DIMMs at JEDEC timings. You can see how many ranks your DIMMs are organized into via Thaiphoon burner or AIDA64. Older 16GB sticks are usually 2 ranks, and the newer ones are single. For most performance you want 4 ranks over 2 channels (interleaving), but 2 ranks over 2 channels is easier on the memory controller.

Each 16GB package is probably 2 ranks per DIMM and certified to run as such. The reason the packages of 4x16GB DIMMs cost more is because they are probably denser ICs with 1 rank per DIMM.

Motherboard and Memory vendors really need to explain this stuff better.

If i were you id get away from corsair and use gskill, crucial, ADATA, Geil, Team, Mushkin.
 
So I guess my next logical question would be, considering the rest of my specs, keeping the same MoBo, upgrading to a 5800X, for replacing RAM, should I go with 2 16gb sticks, and if so, what would you recommend?

I already had a set of Crucial Ballistix RAM in my cart, but 2 packs of 16gb. I'm guessing I should spend the extra $20 for 2 16gb sticks then?

Everything I've researched says it can, but I'd defer to your judgement with more experience.

So now I'm not so sure. Pcpartpicker doesn't list it as compatible, but pangoly does.
 
I guess some do not know that Z series (Z3200) corsair LPX memory is compatible with Ryzen... I use a a Z kit with my R5 3600 (see PC specs) at 3733MHz.
It’s just that ZEN/ZEN+ is more picky with memory than latest ZEN2/3 and not really officially supports 3200MHz, even tho I build a Zen (1500X) PC with LPX 3200 memory 3.5years ago and has no issues. But this system as mine is 2 stick builds and not 4.
4 stick configurations are even harder with ZEN/ZEN+ at higher than 2933 speeds. It’s hard to get stability even with ZEN2/3 at higher than 3200MHz.

Yes, you can keep 1:1:1 ratio between 3800-4000, I don't know if 2000 FCLK will cost but 3866 DRAM-1933FCLK Possible

On a X570 board yes but I doubt that a X470 will go much above 3466 and I will keep believing that until someone post proof of otherwise.

I will have to adjust my view on things a bit since that board has 4000 and 4133 Gskill 2X8 GB kits on the QVL for 3000 Zens but nothing above 3200 for 2000 series.

In Zen 2, the limit is above 3733-3800 fabric clock : latency increases due to uclk clock
