Today, we review the 360x30 mm Bykski Red Copper radiator, which is offered at truly amazing pricing. At only 30 mm thick, this Bykski RC model is fairly compact, yet offers decent thermal performance. What makes it stand out even more is the good build quality and use of a copper core instead of brass.

$80 USD is because of import tariffs (COO China). That $40 Aliexpress price is stripped of import tariffs, which are added on import. You might get lucky and pay nothing but this is more or less a blatant tax fraud.

Huh, since when have any radiators used a "brass" core?
It's AL or Cu with brass only used for the end tanks of the radiator.

Fins are generally copper but the core (coolant tubes and end tank, basically wherever liquid flows) is almost always brass.

Nicely done. Id never considered byski for a rad due to having never seen any reviews of them before. Much appreciated VSG!

This just highlights how sparse wcing reviews have become unfortunately :(

That would be quite expensive though, aluminium/steel places are used for the frame because of cost and also weight savings.

Edit: Ah, did you instead mean just not painting the fins? Those are done purely for aesthetics because they sell more, but also it is easier to hide any fin deformity that way.

Iron frame? That's why it's cheap (ish).

Doesn't that depends on where you live? Different countries have different rules for imported goods.

Right. Ive never been asked to pay import tax on any number of items from AliExpress.

Thats great news. They are not "top tier" but for what most people see them or consider them they actually deliver some very decent quality. Especially in the price/performance are they are by far ahead of the game compared to our "local" stuff in Europe.

Don't get me wrong, I'm always all in for supporting local companies.... but even that has limits. The same way I'd always buy tech and clothing locally that only applies until we're talking about >25% higher prices (e.g. if a car part costs me 50€ in the shop around the corner I'd still buy it over a 35-40€ online part..... but not if exactly the same one is online for 25€ compared to 50€ locally)

The same applies here.... there are some great companies in Europe producing watercooling hardware, but the prices are sometimes.... a bit over the top compared to material costs / employee costs / development costs (I get how those are calculated and integrated into pricing in general, I have a business education and background but it has limits to how much those are accepted as a price driving point vs "we put our name on it so it has to cost more" --- see Corsair/Razer as an example or nearly 90% of "standard gaming chairs" which are, except the logo and maybe the color choice as a base model exactly the same no matter if you pay 100€ or 500€ for it compared to only a few which actually have distinguishing elements and reasons to cost more )

So I'm always glad if options which are more affordable for the masses also get some love and testing instead only "the selected few" (dirty dozen of big brand companies) :)

Almost 4x less restriction than gts 360, almost identical performance 800rpm and above, half the price. Good.

Anyone know what are the alternatives to this Bykski rad ? I'm looking for thin, very low restriction rad. Fans will be 800-900 rpm fixed. What about upcoming EK rads ?

They are mostly thick rads though :( I hope you can review more thin rads.
