The Beta will be opened to all gamers for the weekend of August 20th if you are interested. The game is set to be released September 23rd. This game is a remaster of Diablo II from 21 years ago.

"Diablo 2 Resurrected takes the 2D sprite-based classic and brings it into the present with full 3D physically-based rendering, dynamic lighting, revamped animations and spell effects—all stunningly delivered in up to 4K resolution. Additionally, the game will have enhanced cinematics. Not only that but its memorable soundtrack has also been reinvigorated to support Dolby 7.1 surround sound."

So pretty much a graphic upgrade lol

What are the specs requirements. Knowing Blizzard the requirements are low hence awesome game optimization

Played the Alpha version.

There are quality of life changes like shared stash and auto gold pickup and various loot visibility settings but the core game is un touched as they are trying to stay true to the original as much as possible. 'not to piss off the old fanbase'

I did play the original for nearly 7 years starting in my late elementary school years all trough my high school years and a bit after and for me that was enough of D2. 'both single player, battle net and even with mods at the end for the fun'
Sure this is a nice nostalgic train but there is no way I'm going back to that dated gameplay and non existent drop rates after all these years of playing more modern ARPGs but thats just me.

Graphics are nice I will give it that but the performance was quite bad in the Alpha so I'm curious if they improved on that for the Beta so I'm gonna try just for that.

I played the heck out D2, but even with new graphics IDK how much I want to farm it again for a perfect Oculus and Stormshield. D3 is a much better game in ways. I just started season 24 on D3 and in 2-3 days I had a T15 build pushing Greater Rifts 80. Where with D2 it could take months of farming to get the item you need...honestly it was the first game I said a BOT should be doing this.

Where with D2

I've been playing the original D2 1.00 for as long as the cows have come in (roughly 20 years) and still haven't had the guts to fight Mephisto on my Hard Core Barb to go through and become King.

In saying that I do have long breaks 6/12 months maybe, then Ill pick up some steam and do some 10min runs couple times a week when I get the chance.

Life changes when you get a wife and kids unfortunately..

Edit: Current lvl 91. Had a lvl 87 HC slain 4/5 years ago that had potential :(

Does anyone want to form a group and play this when the time comes? I kinda feel like diving into it and getting carried away like I did 20 years ago. I still have the original CDs.

Id love to mate but very time deprived these days and I'm not a big fan of the latest patches. I'm in love with my original 1.00 : )

I just got Diablo II going on Windows 10 from my discs about a month back. It requires patch 1.41 or something of that nature so it works on 64bit.

Now that I have it running off my CDs I've been running around from time to time in it and the original Diablo, too. Just kind of fun to play them again, even if they are dated. I'd really like to see them do a remaster of the first Diablo, the graphics are a bit hard to swallow on a 27" monitor. Things are nice a big, but a tad pixelated....but it's not the end of the world. I did get to take on the Butcher a couple days ago. Had to kite the hell out of him, but I did it.

I'd be interested in trying out the remastered Diablo 2, but sadly I'm waiting to hear from my dad if/when grandpa passes and from what I was told it may be within the next few days, which means a funeral would be the following weekend.

GOG has Diablo that has been improved a little. I don't think it's a remaster though.

I saw that on there. I might pick up a copy since I never did play the Hellfire.

Ooh farming, the joy of having a friend to sit in a game while you dumped all your stuff on the floor to sort it out HAHAHA. And when one of you dropped you had about 1-2 minutes to get back to the game or it would go POOF.

Even as a kid Diablo 1 was something special. That game was just dripping with character and atmosphere that Diablo 2 didn't quite get right even though it was the same team. I don't think OG Diablo would hold up to modern standards and I don't think there is enough content in D1 to warrant the effort of a remaster but maybe a prequel along with the OG D1 storyline in the D2 remaster engine could be a thing?

The play throughs I've seen of the alpha D2 remaster look really good though and somehow look to have brought in some of that darker atmosphere from D1 that the original D2 didn't deliver on (probably for technical reasons).

If they do it right why not ?, devs knew they would not own the game. If said devs who left make some thing i might just buy it.

How ever i am not that easy to please so will have to see, but i am not going to say no to some thing i think is good.

As for D3 that shit is dead to me they fcked that up so many times over.

Nobody is pointing a Windforce at your head and making you play it.

Seriously though the team behind this looks like they did a super solid job remastering a classic, its not just a reskin.

Even tho I'm not really interested in playing it after the relase cause of my mentioned reasons in my first post but I have to agree, this is how you remaster an old classic if anything.
The team 'Vicarious Visions' that made it has some good record so far with remasters/remakes like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Crash Bandicoot.
