In case you see talk about a metal heatsink in other reviews, and wonder why i don’t mention it. Acer included such a heatsink in the shipment, not in the gm7000 package. When i asked questions they said it is not part of the gm7000 product and just there for other purposes

• We attached a heatsink for your reference which we might consider to bundle with future products. Your opinion would be highly appreciated.

So if you think it's good (attached heatsink) - then they will consider add it with the drive? - really odd

The MP600 is $310 for the 2TB model right now, and it's guaranteed for 3.6PB of endurance. I can't convince myself to buy anything that doesn't significantly beat it in at least price if not more areas. Since so many top end reputable brand drives these days are mostly indistinguishable in real world everyday use, price and endurance are what I look at and put the most weight in as long as everything else is roughly the same.

Well, why should you buy the Corsair MP600 (which is an old PCIe 4.0 like the Silicon Power UD70, Sabrent Rocket 4.0, etc.) if you can buy the ADATA XPG Gammix S70 for $330 from amazon.com? The S70 is much better, also as endurance since the better flash (Kioxia 96L TLC vs Micron 96L TLC) and not only as performance. Also, the MP600 as I said is an old PCIe 4.0 which Corsair replaced it with the MP600 Pro (and Core, but this latter is QLC), in fact the MP600 Pro is the competitor of the S70, more or less they have similar performance and in theory the same endurance.

I do not buy any ADATA products anymore. I've been burned after having two of their flash drives die on me, one of which started disconnecting during transfers after only a few days of use. A similar story with a Silicon Power 512GB A80 SSD. For flash products I'm sticking to brands that I trust and I know Corsair will at the very least have a warranty process that I can count on if something goes wrong.
I'm fine with the MP600 being an earlier PCle 4.0 SSD, since I don't do anything where I will notice a difference between 4.9GBps and 7GBps. And besides that, the guaranteed endurance for the MP600 Pro is less than half of the MP600. I use PS everyday and it's very hard on SSD's, so endurance is always going to be a top factor for me.

Uhm, so with "guaranteed endurance" you mean the TBW. Well, the TBW doesn't represent the guaranteed endurance or only endurance, but it is the warranty as writes. The endurance of drive depends on the flash that it uses, controller's ECC (LDPC or BCH), if it has a DRAM cache or not, the design of the SLC cache, etc.

A yellow 32GB UV128 and the other was a 256GB S102.

If the drive fails while still within the five year warranty period and it has not exceeded the 3.6PBs, then that's a guaranteed endurance in my book because they will replace it.

Endurance is another thing. Your book wrongs because they replace the SSD since you have not exceeded the warranty as writes, so TBW.

I... never said they did? I feel like you're missing my entire point. Once I lose faith in a brand and their products, I don't buy them anymore. And I understand what endurance is relating to NAND. Again, I feel like you're not understanding what I'm trying to get across.

This drive defo needs a heatsink. I have a S70 Gammix which is quite "hot" and comes by default with a decent passive heat spreader, with a default 56 centigrade.
I tried active cooling, this ICYBOX , but the location of the drive is quite close to the video card, making it difficult to be used. However, the active cooling reduced the drive average heat to 46 centigrade, which is awesome, but it is not needed, because factory supplied heat spreader is good enough.

Actually, 56 degrees Centigrade is almost high as temperature if you refer to the flash. If you refer to the controller, it isn’t.
