It's not in the release build? Or there are just no games right now on PC that actively support it since it needs to be implemented in games?
I believe both.

I couldn't agree more with the video @Chomiq shared. No Direct Storage yet coupled with the inconveniences caused (change for the sake of change, not progress) will have me holding off on upgrading for a bit.

This is an interesting watch as well:

Won't be upgrading until I'm forced to (either after W10 support ends or when I upgrade to a big.LITTLE arch platform).

I upgraded yesterday. So far the only hitch I had was at one point after a system restart my taskbar disappeared completely. I had to make some change to uninstall some KB windows updates or something in order for it to appear again, after trying other solutions I found online.

So far it feels like just Windows 10, not super exciting, but I'm just glad the upgrade process was (relatively) painless.

Appreciate the heads up. I read that various things require more clicks. Yeah I think I'll wait on Linux/Mac inspired UX/UI Windows 11. Especially with the performance loss in games for AMD CPUs(Yes I'm aware that AMD will release a fix for this).

Microsoft are still messing around with the scheduler (probably for Alder Lake) and wrecking Zen3 performance, right?
I'm not beta-testing Microsoft's Intel Scheduler code on my Zen3 thanks.

As for the rest of the interface, what exactly does it add? I see very little of note in the new Windows except an improved Notepad, which is irrelevant in a universe where Notepad++ exists.

The interface is more schizophrenic than 10 and now there are more clicks to get anything done.
In addition, we're still reliant on the both the ModernUI "settings" and the old Control Panel because it's still not a new interface from the ground up, but yet more lipstick on the pig that was Windows 8.

Windows 8/10/11 or whatever Microsoft wants to call it will not be "ready" until all of the old Vista-era MMC and Win95-era control panel stuff is finally retired because it has a replacement from this century.
IMO every single goddamn settings page in windows 8/10/11 is fundamentally pointless if you can't do everything you need to without falling back to the old legacy option.

You're totally right. I also have an AMD chip, but even if I wasn't on Zen, I wouldn't pull the plug and go through the process of converting to GPT and enabling TPM with secure boot to install an OS which will be unstable for a while. I love Win10 the way I set it up. No telemetry, all services like Cortana and Xbox are deleted along with the trash MS Store. ShutUp10 also helped me keep in check other MS spyware in the OS.
As for control panel, I am old school and still love it, but I admit it's time to out with it.

Can anybody here from TPU forums tell me if I can switch to a local account in Win10 and keep my license?
I send zero data to MS, but I keep logged into an MS account just for the sake of the license.

I have a legal copy of Win10 on my laptop and I haven't signed in. I don't think you need to do that.

Hi,
11 using upgrade mounting an iso worked just fine
Only issue besides few preinstalled apps I see no real difference from 10 besides 10's start menu needs nothing more than resizing to show only all apps list 11 can't do it yet so must be too tough for ms to do it natively only a third party can so far so no thanks open shell I don't like it changes way too much.

11 sure isn't any faster or offers anything special except more tweaks to get it usable.
I have 10 & 11 on separate ssd's to keep them apart I'll keep both for a while but doubt ms will change much just add more crapware/ adds/.... it's time to bloat it up right everyone thinks it slim and my favorite term snappy lol even 10 is snappy :kookoo:

I was told its not worth moving from windows 10 to windows 11 right now. No difference in gaming, so i don't see any reason also to switch. But i will install windows 11 on my secondary rig once i get my w6600.

The amount of apparent surprise that 10 --> 11 is mostly a lateral move is puzzling to me. It's been true since the debut of Win32 that about every other major release warrants an update. Also, every major release other than 7 (IIRC) has been some degree of s***-show until the teething problems get fixed. Even Vista was usable post-SP1.

3.x --> 95 = Y
95 --> 98 = ?
98 --> Me = N
9x --> XP = Y
XP --> Vista = N
Any --> 7 = Y
7 --> 8.x = N
8.x --> 10 = Y
10 --> 11 = N

Yes, that's oversimplified and excludes W2k.
