Corsair updates its classic M65 with several new features: Optical Omron switches for the main buttons, true 8000 Hz polling owing to Corsair's custom 26,000 CPI Marksman sensor, and a particularly low lift-off distance along with the ability to use tilt gestures to execute actions. Staples such as the weight adjustment system are still on board, too.

My problem is that to navigate a five display setup years ago, I got used to a max-weighted, max-sensitivity mouse setup. So now I can't find mice in this era that are heavy enough (near 200gr).

So the dumb aluminium exo-skeleton makes it both heavy and expensive while not providing any benefits in return. Too bad because I really like this side button layout...

To me, this is a minor issue. I actually like cables that are a bit on the stronger side. They tend to kink less.

I agree with this. Though my Razer Naga X has a really nice cable on it, never seen anything like it on any of my other mice, its like pure cloth, but has anti kink features.

What did you miss in this review? Did you not read it? Or did you just gloss over the end-points? This is an excellent mouse for a very reasonable price. Corsair has a win with this one. I've seen much worse for higher prices.

Please provide your critique. (I’m genuinely interested.)
I already wrote a 4 page article about in on my native language in September of 2021, had it for a for a few weeks.

tl;dr: It's an overpriced brick with a bloatware software. Good build quality, fingerprint attracting plastic, good buttons, especially the main clicks (nice and light, easily spammable), the shape is completely subjective, but I'd call it an acquired taste at best (personally was not a fan of it, but that's just me), sensor is good, the gyro is well, cool and all, but it's more of a gimmick, and ALUMINIUM on a supposedly high-end mouse is beyond ridiculous. So as the weight, which is heavy af, even without the extra weights (is it 2008 again, lol?). Imo only go for it, if you absolutely loved its predecessors, and have no intention to try out something different (better).

Corsair is way behind in the mouse game. And their software (iCUE) is literal AIDS. I mean there wasn't a single occasion when I didn't have some kind of problem(s) with it while reviewing Corsair peripherals (and some of if was pretty scary, like when the firmware update bricked the brand new mouse and killed off my whole USB subsystem temporarily, and had to acquire a proper working fw file from the manufacturer, and had to manually copy it to the mouse's internal memory).
