11th gen is... not good.
, it's going to be popular with budget builds who haven't read reviews on the products, but that's about it

I'd take a 1600AF on a B450 anyday, over 11th gen.
The i5 11400F mops the floor with those AMD cpu's you posted and does it for cheaper. Can't wait for the new Alder Lake locked cpu's and B660 boards. It's going to be a bloodbath.

"Mops the floor" - 10% faster

"cheaper as well"

(Yeah, not once you add the motherboard in. Don't get a cheap one, or you'll lose that tiny performance lead)

I've posted so many Aussie Intel builds these past few months that country should give me honorary citizenship.

tbh id have gone w/ 10400(F), all things considered that's a far better product than the 11400 since it doesn't have any of the catches (besides B460s not being able to do XMP, haHAA) of the 11400, and tbh the 10400 when not held back by 2666 memory quite comprehensively destroys the 3600

Pair the 10400F up with a B560 board and 3200mhz RAM and it's a budget gaming beast.

I'm not arguing that the CPU is garbage or anything, it's literally just the best of a poor product line where they threw wattage at the wall for barely any change, just that your wording about how soundly it beats older chips is... excessive.

Spend less and get Zen 2, spend more and get 10/11 gen, or spend more again and get zen 3

It's almost like theres a good choice for whatever your budget is (as long as you avoid the pitfalls, like the low memory mobos or the ones with VRM issues)

yeah, but unless everything's uhm down under down under the 10400-B560/Z490 (the cheapest'll do, thank you very much) had been quite consistently cheaper than the 3600-B450 plan for like, a year or something now?
i understand that this wasn't always the case, and when 3600-B450 was (significantly) cheaper that was obviously also the better option, but things have turned these days, and this is also an extremely price sensitive bracket so

More or less, but here in Au i can get almost every other OEM model
These are great chips, great prices. But there is literally only the 1600AF cheaper ($200 Au)

I managed to snatch one R5 3600 at US $190 :D, then like 3 days later got a 5900X at $520 minus a $40 coupon. Talk about good prices.

Pretty good deal on those cpu's, especially if you already own the AMD boards. If not then this is a pretty decent deal also.

By the time this 12100 actually coming out and, with budget MB actually available, The 3300x would be a 2 year-old processor.
Great victory intel, Comfortably ?

The 3300x hasn't even been available, the 10100f for $85 owned this segment (that doesn't really exist because cheap dgpus don't exist either)

It was available................for 5 minutes. For me, that cpu was just a smoke screen. It never existed. It was reviewed just to say amd had a cheap and powerfull cpu, but in reality i could never find one, and i looked almost everyday since it was "released"
