GIGABYTE joined the 12 GB GeForce RTX 2060 comeback party with two custom-design graphics card models, the RTX 2060 D6 12G, and the larger RTX 2060 WindForce OC 12G. NVIDIA formally released the RTX 2060 12 GB on December 7. This isn't just an RTX 2060 with double the memory amount (12 GB vs. 6 GB), but also an increase in CUDA cores, to 2,176, up from 1,920 on the original. What sets the RTX 2060 12 GB apart from the RTX 2060 SUPER is that the memory bus is still 192-bit wide, compared to 256-bit on the latter.

The GIGABYTE RTX 2060 12 GB D6 features a more compact (22.4 cm long) WindForce 2X cooling solution that uses a pair of 90 mm fans. This SKU sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 1650 MHz boost. The RTX 2060 12 GB WindForce OC, on the other hand, features a larger 26.5 cm-long board design, with 100 mm fans, and a heavier heatsink. This card packs a mild factory-overclock, running the GPU at 1680 MHz boost. Both cards rely on a single 8-pin PCIe power connector for power. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Dunno, why would anyone even buy this... if the price is 150e, then yea, if more, dream on nvidia. Although desperate people will buy anything, sad.

It seems gaming in general is screwed, we still can't buy the new consoles, and neither has a proper next-gen game.

So far nobody is interested in sending out samples for this card
I don't think they even have any to send out. All pre-sold to China.

These aren't fast miners, but they are very power efficient. I hear +-80 Watts for around 31MH/s.

I wonder if nGreedia actually made this card to be attractive to miners, so that it would maybe free-up the 3060... The 12nm node is not as slammed as the more advanced production, so maybe they think they can get some real quantity and profit on these old GPU's.

No need to send out for sampling when it can go straight into the pits mining.

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
Pure vapor known as "bitcoin" (don't tell me how it is "just another currency" for the love of god) has mcap of nearly 1 trillion dollars.
And the only value of that vapor is that you can sell it to others in the future (as it has that lovely, Ponzi vibes, feature in it of "becoming more expensive over time")

I think crypto-bazinga "investments" highlight just how ridiculous stock market "investments" are in general.
Don't people buy stock to sell it for more later on anyhow?
And in the end, does it matter whether "final" value is zero or non-zero?
Tesla, a company "worth 1 trillion" with annual revenue of 30 billion anyone? Cause... no freaking idea, some "bright" analysts still could not figure that other car manufacturers are going electric because of "zero emissions" driven restrictions and not because Tesla's revenue reached 10% of Volkswagen's?

Uh, oh, doh.

i dont want to live on this planet anymore GIF

What exactly is it that you want to know? It's a 2 year old card, with some extra memory thrown on it. Go and read some reviews of the 2060 and 2060 super, and you'll have all the pertinent facts.

I don't really see why they'd bother. Looking at it, it just seems to be a slightly less RTX 2060 Super.
The only difference between the 12GB 2060 specs and the 2060S is that the 12GB 2060 is keeping the 192 bus that the original RTX 2060 has, everything else is the spitting image of the 2060S (aside from the amount of VRAM).

I wouldn't expect this release to be any better than the 2060S.

185 watts on a single S-shape heatpipe albeit 8mm. prepare for the sound of the anglegrinder this will let loose.
2$ ethermine multiply by 365 days ROI, market price of $730 just forget about it. Im not paying $700 for anything less than a RTX 4070S.

You should have made a single article to put all these "announcements" in.
The card is irrelevant and unobtainable, and unworthy of this front page clutter.

China has banned cryptomining and currently they have a relatively low share of Ethereum nodes apparently, it's more likely that it's been pre-sold to miners based in the US and elsewhere, since the card is reportedly targeting miners. So much for all the nonsense about cryptomining having a moderate impact on the current GPU shortage and inflated prices...

I’m wondering when the gaming industry will really start seeing a big impact. Sure there was an initial high spike from COVID and folks can run existing cards for a while, but I do wonder what nvidia/amd think is going to happen here. They are basically eating their cash cow to feed a piglet - albeit a large piglet. The gaming industry will only survive for so long and past a certain point will take years to recover - if at all.

on an unrelated note it’s interesting to see that we have reached a point where processes have become so complex that market competition is no longer an option. In years past we would have seen 30 upstarts all trying to sell their xyz knockoff cards. No longer…
