Intel Cost structure - Its called Bleed everyone for every little extra feature !Only $18 cheaper? The B560 is $2 less than that, so a huge gap in cost for what is more or less just overclocking...
Intel has a bizarre cost structure for its chipsets.
Also, that $18 is $50 by the time you buy the board.

Got an article coming, you'd be surprised what's the most costly part for these new boards.the cost goes to pcb materials (signal integrity), not the physical slots.
Budget build w/ DDR5 .... not likely to happen anytime soon. The performance difference is so negligible that you buy what you think looks the best in your case.
Z690 boards will always look better with RGBs and large heatsinks. You think people buy $600+ boards on performance and value? They buy it because it looks better and some features like 10gbps internet they probably will never use.
If you're going for budget build with Intel H or B series motherboard, it is just wiser to buy a pre-built with DDR5 and the GPU that you want for much less money, because looks and extra features don't matter as much to consumers on a budget.
i think i read somewhere it is suppoosed to be all the PCIe 5.0 stuff !Got an article coming, you'd be surprised what's the most costly part for these new boards.

There is now talk about H670 is not coming out for the time being and maybe not at all?H670 and B660 both look good, H670 better for the higher chipset bandwidth, B660 is good if you dont have many expansion cards/devices. H610 is garbage as always and will be found in garbage systems running pentiums and celerons.
A H670 with a 12700F and 4000 mhz will be a killer setup

Well apparently Intel has held back the H670 motherboards but I have seen 2 available . Both are Asus . Not sure why but ..... ?ASUS TUF, PRIME and ROG STRIX H670 and B660 motherboards pictured - VideoCardz.com
ASUS H670/B660 motherboards Contrary to the rumors from China, the H670 series do not appear to be canceled at all. In fact, we have the first pictures of the next-gen motherboards from ASUS. We received four motherboard pictures featuring H670 and B660 chipsets. It goes without saying that...videocardz.com

Needs to be a top tier board with a dedicated Bclk generatorIf it could be done on a cheaper motherboard then I would be interested!
The socket retention mechanism for Alderlake apparently bows the socket in the middle reducing contact and increasing temps !
