Hello,

I've just bought the card in the title and it came with a BIOS (switch is in performance position) with GPU clock 1195MHz, mem clock 1950MHz. The seller told me that he never tinkered with the BIOSes on the card and never used it for mining and bought in a shop back in 2018. I'm curious: is there a way that I can figure out if this is the original BIOS or it was flashed somewhere in the past? To me it seems weird, since this card should be 1411/1750 according to https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/sapphire-nitro-rx-580-4-gb.b4433
Another weird thing is that since I disabled CSM in mainboard BIOS, I cannot enter BIOS with this card (Win10, latest). Screen is black until the Windows logon screen. If I try to reboot to enter UEFI mode (advanced startup -> UEFI firmware in Win10), fans are running on the card, screen remains black. Is this normal with this card? I can do the same with the iGPU (5600G) as far as I can remember, I can enter BIOS without problem, I have boot screen with mainboard (Asrock) logo. I use Displayport in both cases (RX580 / iGPU), fast boot is disabled.

It seems to be flashed since I dont remember a mem clock of 1950 on any of the RX 580 cards by default from any manufacturer.
Can you share the SKU listed on the graphics card?

SKU:
11265-07 (1411 / 1750)
11265-08 (1340 / 1750)
11265-31 (1411 / 1750)
11265-36 (1340 / 1750)

Unfortunately I don't have its box and I cannot find the SKU number on the card itself. Since my post I tried the other BIOS, switched towards the ports and it is an unstable 1411/2000MHz configuration. Once I start GPU-Z I manage to make a screenshot but then it reboots. AMD Software also reboots immediately. However with this BIOS I get the POST screen with the Asrock logo, I can enter the BIOS every time if I want...
How should I flash the BIOS, I mean is it "safe" to change the unstable BIOS to the factory quiet BIOS (if I find it somewhere on internet)? What if it reboots also while flashing? I know I still have the other BIOS, but then I loose one of the 2 forever, right?
(The funny thing is that the card is wonderful with the 1195/1950MHz configuration, making 70-80fps in Forza 5 with High settings and 45+ fps with Ultra and is rock stable.)

Yes it is safe. Just boot with the stable bios. When in Windows, change the bios switch to the unstable bios. Then flash the bios with a stable factory bios.

You can also make a dump of the bios first. Then you can see either the normal or the unstable is dumped.
If the unstable bios is dumped, then the bios switch is in the correct position before flashing :)

Can you make a picture of the back of the card?

OK, thanks, I will try! :)

That is a LOT of shroud here!
Very likely with some more disassembly, the sticker with detailed info will show. :)

Thanks, I would prefer just flashing with a working BIOS, but will check this tool also.

Thanks!
Did not think of looking at the problem from that angle. ;)
:) Yes, definitely

Unfortunately I get P/N mismatch error with this file, no matter if I try to flash booting the stable BIOS and flashing it (switch position 2) or if I boot in this way and switch to the unstable BIOS right before hitting the Program button (switch position 1, towards the ports on the card). Does this mean that I cannot flash this factory ROM? Are there anything I can do here?

No, that means that the current BIOS that is written is not necessary the original one.
What i provided was an original one.
Before flashing be so kind and use the arrow from GPU-z to save the current BIOS (even it is not original) and load it here and let me check it.
Or use the save file from atiflash program.

OK, here are they, bios_1_orig is the unstable one, bios_2_orig is the stable one.
I guess I should use the -fp option to force and run from command prompt...

LOL, those 2 files that you uploaded have 2 different memory chips.
What i mean : BIOS1 is for Samsung chips and BIOS 2 is for ELPIDA + HYNIX
BIOS 1 if it works on your card then you have Samsung chips. If it gets errors, that comes from memory settings that are for Samsung but in fact you have Hynix as in the photo.
So your card was really tampered.
We must figure out what memory chips you have indeed.
So because you said BIOS1 is unstable that gives me the answer : you DO NOT have Samsung memory, instead you have Hynix.
So you must use the force flash procedure:
Save the BIOS file i provided in the amdflash folder and rename it as RX5801.rom
open CMD with admin privileges
BIOS switch must be set to position 1 - we will flash ONLY the BIOS1 right now.
Use CD command to enter atiflash folder (directory)
use the following command to forceflash:
amdvbflash -p -f -fa -fs RX5801.rom
after BIOS is flashed a message will appear to restart computer

Kepp us informed how it went
Use an older atiflash version (2.93)

Hello.
Your video card have some problems?
Or why do you intend to flash the BIOS.
If it works correctly DO NOT FLASH it.
Please make a picture also from your labels from the card.

Well....let's not hurry.
Not in all cases it is BIOS's fault.
There is a chance to have that errors from your video drivers.
People usually update the video driver even the actual one works fine.
So in my humble experience i encountered many situations and most of all at AMD where the drivers caused many trouble.
I would suggest first to deal with the video drivers.
Revert them to an older version that is more stable
I noticed you use enterprise version, but still i suggest to use an older stable version.

This is the first step to do. Replace the drivers
