5 year warranty when everyone else in the sector is offering 7 or 10 years?

Otherwise I'm happy with my two BeQuiet supplies that have performed admirably through several upgrades. Hell, one of them (A 2012 Pure Power L8 530W) is only 80+ Bronze but still to this day whisper-quiet and keeping a dGPU system rock stable after umpteen CPU/GPU changes. It's handled a 2070S and R5 3600 without issue, which I think is impressive for such an old piece of kit in near-constant use. Today's spec is a 30W lighter load but it's yet more proof that the warranty length matters and that getting a well-made unit is a worthy investment. Thanks to JonnyGuru for that one and @crmaris for picking up the torch since he left the scene.

I am actually quite disturbed by the fact that new PSUs are lacking the connections for future GPUs and motherboard. When Nvidia is pushing 12 pin PCI-E power hard and Intel also pushing for the ATX 12VO standard, PSU makers are knowingly churning out what will be obsolete in some time, which is basically planned obsolescence in my opinion. While these are still not standards yet, but it can't hurt to include say a 2x 8pin PCI-E power to 12 pin cable in there for example. The only PSU that I can find with the 2x 8pin PCI-E to 12 pin cable is the ultra expensive Asus ROG Thor Platinum 2.

Why raise the quality of the standard, if you can offer it at a premium? It's also sad to see, that PSU manufacturers seem to be in agreement, that next gen stuff will guzzle even more power.

Load-side connectors are well, load-side. Nothing keeps them from offering cable kits when these new connectors would be actually adopted. Seasonic and Corsair already offer 12-pin GPU cables, the 'new' 12+4pin connector is the same thing just without optional 4-pin part. And there are no new motherboard connector yet. Maybe you're thinking about ATX12VO but it wasn't adopted by anyone in the consumer market yet. Adding extra useless cables costs money which either raises the price of a PSU or requires costdowns in other parts.
