55% as of now says on the poll that this is an interesting idea but they would not buy it.

How is this an interesting idea? So many of EVGA's competition does prebuilts, Asus, MSI, Gigabyte to name a few. How is this anything but expected that it is an interesting idea?

But if the frame is CF, how does it discharge to ground all the components? Yet aside this minor detail I think CF is stupid, expensive, fragile, and useless once it is even remotely cracked.

same thing when breadboarding to troubleshoot. all connections have ground to PSU and the wall outlet grounds the psu.

same thing when breadboarding to troubleshoot. all connections have ground to PSU and the wall outlet grounds the psu.

Yeah, but usually every part of the case is connected to the ground, through the PSU of course, that I thought it wasn't even worth mentioning around here, right to avoid that any part of the case could discharge to any of electronic components. Normally infact the GND of the PSU is connected to its metal casing and back plate, wich in turns gets connected to the metal surface of the MB trail through the metal case internal structure and also the whole case external sufaces too, being all made of metal or conducting material.

Now looking to the pictures the trail for the MB (which I assume is at least metal and properly connected to the PSU) looks like hanging on tensile structures attached to the CF frame through some kind of wires. What doesn't sits well with me is the CF frame which can eventually discharge electrostatic from its surface (carbon fiber is conducting, but the plastic resin permeating it is not a given), as its rubber feet are likely insulators, and the wires of the tensile structure looks quite dark in the pictures like they are some kind of polymer fibers, which are non conductive, that is what I don't like.

Now if the tensile structure wires are metal instead and if they are securely connected to the MB metal trail and also to the CF frame surface there should be no electrostatic discharge danger, as it would all properly go through the PSU GND, but if not then touching the frame and some electronic part might discharge through that electronic part instead.

You don't, 95% of the use case here is watching your build, making pics of it, and dusting it off before making pics of it. Its a real attention seeker, of dust particles especially

That's extreme gaming in a nutshell. Thinking extremely about everything your hardware could do.

Though I gotta say, of all 'naked bike' cases I've seen, this one is definitely taking the idea and runs with it. In a not too bad way either.

I'm really happy to see carbon fiber being used for pc stuff (even though it's been on higher-end cars, bicycles etc for a few years now) and hopefully as moar mfgr's start to use it, the prices will come down.

Now if they could keep that basic frame design and add some fine mesh transparent aluminum or CF panels on the sides, top & bottom, I would buy one, like, yesterday
