here:
I took a screenshot with the MSI afterburn stats at the worse framerate moment
I closed every process/bloatware I could
the result is ugly...
I was about to think I am crazy, that there is nothing wrong, but now its obvious there is, isn't it?
Can you run it at 720p just to make sure it's your GPU that hampers performance. But yeah results seem pretty low, was getting more with 11600k. The only culprit I can see is the ram

Hi,
11 series was all about trolling amd for single core scores.

11 series CPU? I could have sworn it was a 3700X..

Ahh well.

Some other test this morning with GTA V
The games runs at 160-180 fps in 1080p with Very High graphics presets (both DX10 and DX11)
*BUT* there is stuttering and framerate drop to 50-60 fps very often
There is definitely something wrong...
Does this mean a CPU bottleneck? with an 11700K really???

EDIT:
Maybe an anwser here:
It is rather a game related issue that a "real" CPU bottleneck apparently...
EDIT2:
I reenabled Vsync, but I have only a 60Hz display, so fps are now capped to 60, no stuttering at this framerate obvioulsy, it would need a 144Hz to properly test that...

Take it up with with Rockstar Games, Nvidia, and Gigabyte.

Forget that results, I tweaked the bios in the during the afternoon and at some point while XMP was still enabled, DRAM 3200MHz speed was not, I forced it manually, and now Far Cry is more than ok
here:
I put a screeshot at min fps also

the issue with Fortnite remains...

So it was the ram...wow, the increase from 2400 to 3200 xmp is bonkers :)

I was always a proponent of tuned bdie kits.

oh hell
NVIDIA push a driver update v512.somthing, I installed it, now Far Cry benchmark gives me theses scores:
1080p ultra 90 fps (GPU load at 100%!)
1440p ultra 60 fps
4K ultra 30 fps
perfectly linear. I changed nothing else
damn

Just watched this, fortnite 1080p epic settings the 3080 was managing 155 fps, though it also looks like a CPU bottleneck as well.

ok many thanks @fevgatos for having taken the time to take a look it! Remind me your config please?

I had an 2 good ideas yesterday in fact about that garanteed fps by NZXT
As of now, the garanteed fps in 1080p for Fortnite is 178 +/- 10%. In august 2021, it was 222!
So they must be quite serious about keeping that value up-to-date as new drivers are beeing released.
It looks that recent updates of the game and/or drivers resulted in a drop of performance. That also explains those "sources" I keeping mentionning from my op and their fancyful fps: there was just measured a long time ago, that is simply not how the game must work now.
Second good idea: maybe there are just using that 10% margin of error to be sexy: they measured 160 fps, which seems reasonable, and market a guaranteed fps of 160/0.9 = 178 +/-10%
"People measure 160 fps? We are in the range, and we sold even more!"

EDIT:
I will also take the opportunity to correct my op, cause in fact the prebuilt and its guaranteed fps are not the same for the US website and the EU website, I mixed the 2, so as of today:
Code:
- US: 10700KF 8-Core 3.8 GHz + GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (GDDR6 8GB) + DDR4 2x16GB 3000 MHz + SSD NVMe M.2 1TB --> 1080p 183 fps / 1440p 159 fps
- EU: 11700K  8-Core 3.6 GHz + GeForce RTX 3070    (GDDR6 8GB) + DDR4 2x8GB 3200 MHz  + SSD NVMe M.2 1TB --> 1080p 178 fps / 1440p 148 fps
If both US and EU did the tests is the same conditions (driver version etc.), then well it prooves the CPU bottleneck I think

You might be seeing the new virtualization-based security in windows taking a toll - control flow guard and all of these new mitigations are very expensive.
