Hello,

I bought 3 days ago a used RX 5700 xt but I'm facing a weird problem.

As you can see on the GPU-Z report my graphics card has missing information and every clock are at 0 Mhz. My device manager is also showing a "43 error" on my graphics card.
1648683477870.png

I thought first of a driver problem... I used DDU to clean everything and then I installed the latest recommended driver with AMD website. No change still 43 error code.
Next, I thought of a VBIOS problem so I downloaded the recommended bios in the TechPowerUp database and I patched my Graphics card ( I have a bios switch) but still no change.

I did a DXDIAG check and it appears that the card is using the "Microsoft basic display adapter" but the device manager shows me that my card is an AMD 5700 XT.

What can I do ?

Thanks

Did you patch the drivers as well?
Their saying ddu the drivers again and reinstall. This cleans out old registry values so the card can be recognized

Hello
If you used DDU to clean old drivers, then you reinstalled the new ones, after that you patch them with atikmdag, i believe you did what was
necessary to have a functional card.
I understand that you flashed the BIOS also with a new one.
There is a small chance that you used a wrong BIOS.
But also there is a chance that you have a toasted card.

Of course before you open the card to make a picture of the memory chip, i would check if the card still have warranty.
Ask the seller about that or check the producer web page.
Only if you are sure you can't have it, only then you will open the card to make that photo.
Of course opening it will identify EXACTLY the producer and the code of the memory chip

True, but if he open the card and it still have warranty then he looses the warranty.
On the other hand if the seller doesn't respond, the last resort is to open the card to identify the memory code

Ok, thanks for your answers.

The card has already been opened so there is no more warranty on it. I attached the stickers and memory chip.

I also contact AMD and Sapphire but they are not helping that much.

Yes, I did everything of that but maybe in the wrong way like I only patched the Bios signature... Should I patch everything ?

Thanks

Hello
In my case, Sapphire responded and i can say they were quick.
I received a BIOS for one of my RX580's and all went ok.
In your case...who knows. Let's see how they deal it.
Regarding the patch...when you run the ATIKMDAG patcher, you will be informed what exactly it was patched.
One of the things is the video driver itself. (among others)

1st of the BIOS-es posted by @MaenadFIN is the BIOS for 2nd position of your switch
2nd BIOS posted by @MaenadFIN is the BIOS for 1st position of your switch

In this case you will have both BIOS-es needed for your card.
Good luck

Well, I already tried all of those Vbios and it was always a successful patch but I still have the same problem...

At this point, I'll try to flash directly the EEPROM with a CH341A adapter.

Why in the world do you think that CH341A will do a better job then amdvbflash ?
If the flashing procedure succeeded then for sure it is not a matter of flashing , rather a problem of BIOS file ...or worst case scenario the video card itself.
Let's dig up for more BIOS-es

Yes, you're right but I'm just trying everything possible.
I'm used to repairing graphics cards but this time I have never seen a problem like this. I tried every RX 5700 xt Pulse BIOS and all the drivers even "Amernime" drivers but I still have Windows using the "Microsoft Basic display" driver and you can only see that in DXDIAG.

So if someone has an official "Saphire RX 5700 XT bios" with E411 ID I'm open!

Thanks for your help!

It depends on what ram is present in the bios file

Your bios file may not even have Samsung K4Z80325BC-HC14 ram in it.

Get Version 2.93 of this tool.

Verified Bios.

Here are the rest, unverified bios.

Follow these steps carefully:

1. Open your "C:" drive in Windows, create a new folder, call it atiflash.

2. Extract the contents of atiflash_293.zip to the "C:\atiflash" folder

3. Find the bios file you downloaded and rename the bios file to sp57xt.rom

4. Move sp57xt.rom to the "C:\atiflash" folder

5. Open the start menu, type cmd, when cmd.exe appears right click it and hit "Run as administrator"

6. At the command prompt type in cd\ and press enter until only C:\> is on the screen.

7. Type in cd/atiflash and press enter, you should see C:\atiflash>

8. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
(there is a space between the e and -unlockrom and 0)(0 is the number zero)
press enter and you will be prompted that the "ROM Unlocked"

9. At the C:\atiflash> prompt type in
amdvbflash.exe -f -p 0 sp57xt.rom
(there is a space between the .exe and -f, and a space between -f and -p and 0)press enter.

Follow directions on screen and if flash is successful exit the command prompt and restart, windows should show up on screen.

I did every of that but I still have 0Mhz on every clock even with the bios of "BATOFF3" so now I don't think that it's a BIOS issue...

I clear my MB CMOS but still no changes

But I have more information from the seller : The card was only used for gaming and the owner never tried to modify the BIOS. Finaly the only thing he know is that the problem appeared after an update.

He told me that he just update the drivers after a long time of not using his computer.

Ok...let's roll back a little.
Updating a driver doesn't brake your card.
He either made a software change at his card (BIOS) or he broke it at a hardware lvl by using it in a wrong way (could be gaming also not only mining).
