So here are some early benchmarks,, temps, power draw etc, without optimizations, see system spec for PC configuration, yes... its a SFF case

this is a 3 minute test, took measurements at 2/3 of the way through

that's insane. I was not aware SLI was still supported. does it even work in modern AAA games?

In this case it’s nvlink, multi-gpu, not sli

and yes there a multiple games and apps that support mgpu or sli

I just finished playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and that is an MGPU title in Vulkan

before that I played Zombie Army 4, also mgpu
And before that sniper elite 4, also mgpu

some things aren’t, such as cyberpunk,

other thing are mgpu such as SOTTR and ROTTR

QUake 2 rtx is mgpu

my NN and deep learning dissertation is also mgpu

Well this seems like a lot of fun, keen to follow along and see how it all goes. Been many years since I used multiple cards so it'll be fun to see what the best current GPU's can do together when supported.

4k, 10-bit colour , I didn't bench RDR2, played it with monitor set at 120hz,

monitor is the Asus PA32UCG, (FALD)

I play most games with these settings:
4k, 10-bit, NO DLSS, DO Dynamic resolution Max AF, Max eye candy/visuals, max shadows, max ray tracing, usually TAA or SMAA, no vignette, no film noise, no DoF, no motion blur.

you know you can find out if these games have any physX in them, by making the Nvidia control panel show the phsyX indicator in the right top corner.

right in that tab that says 3D Settings up there is says Show Visal PhysX indicator. I'm guessing a lot of these games are cpu PhysX or just not there at all.

were you getting near 120 fps at 4k? or did you watch the fps count?

the monitor has a built in fps counter that one can display on the screen

I don't think you understand what I am trying to ask.

I am trying to see how much performance you got in RDR2 while using 2x 3090 ti in Vulkan

were you hitting 120 fps 4k while playing the game RDR2?

Yes sir, there where fluctuations, but yes

Vulkan scales very well in mgpu.

The first time I saw it was in ashes of the singularity and Strange brigade (Vulkan) I saw strange brigade iat 4k hit 300 FPS with max eye candy in the benchmark

maybe this will answer it better
using 2x 3090 TI FE nvlink
RDR2 4k (3840x2160) , max all eye candy settings (except no motion blur)

The dissertation involves a training/verification database of labeled DICOM images relevant to the impression and findings of the matched anonymized radiologist reports. The taxonomy and positioning need to be consistent and all surrounding factors.

The focus is treatment guidance based on statistical / data patterns relevant to known positive outcomes for specifically 2 procedures types, with same contrast, and same protocols, same magnet.

the issue I have run into us that in the US (compared to national health systems) there are sparse non unified data silos located at hospitals, and insurance companies, that prevent amassing enough consistent anonymized data to increase prediction accuracy. It would also be nice not to monitize it like google’s nightingale service that git all the private data from Ascension Health under a BAA as a flimsy HIPAA workaround…and I’m big on patient privacy.

So anonymized data sets are the pain in the US. So I’m using multiple sources for similar match data sets. I’m doing this meeting all GDPR requirements and all data is anonymized and because it’s way to broad for a single person to do - I’m limiting the scope to only 2 procedures that are trackable. My “day job” makes the research easier, but this was more complicated than I had anticipated in the beginning.

about 11-13 months to go….

there are multiple entities working on similar projects such as nvidia, Philips, and Siemens,(and they are doing amazing things) but this dissertation is a very small specific slice focused on a very limited set of procedures, under identical circumstances, of the same modalities (3 T mri) as an aid in clinical decision support for specific outcomes.

hope that clarifies the scope

Hi

so I wasn't happy with the temps. I re-padded and repasted both cards. I used the gelid pads and I used the pink kryonaut extreme. It will need a few days to settle down but it seems to be about a 7C difference in the ram and about a 2C difference in the GPU/GPU hotspot.

On the 3090 ti FE there isnt any reason to use 2 or 3mm pads, 1mm to 1.5mm seems to work best. I did do some creative padding on the backside to move some of the heat off the pcb to the outer shell.

I'll keep an eye on it and see if I get an extra 1C out of it as it settles.

I watched a few videos on the AIB partner cards being apart and it seems an easier disassembly than the 3090 ti. It took me 1.5 hours in total process per card. the bulk was spent cleaning, and then selecting and cutting the pads to the right size. 1.5 mm was slightly too thicj and 1.mm seemed too thin, the gelid pads don't compress that well so it was trial and error .

agonized over the TIM. Had noctua 2, gelid extreme, and kryonaut gray and pink. Best guess was the kryonaut pink.
