As a side note, how would one be able to tell if the thermal paste was done badly? Since they did it themselves I don't know how well they did it, although they used my paste and have done it thousands of times.

Hopefully my last one: they installed the cpu cooler upside down. Should I turn it around? I plan to put another fan in the case that would be directly facing the cpu fan.

Just make sure the air flow is right from the CPU cooler.

You can probably just un-clip the fans and put them the other way without removing the heatsink? Well, if the temps are okay, then there's nothing wrong with the paste.

edit: Also put the RAM modules to the correct slots (A2 and B2)

I think I did, put the matching ram in the coloured slots. I'll send a pic when I've done the fans.

Edit: So I had to take the cooler off because the idiots thought it was a good idea to put one of cpu fan's cables under the metal bars. I discovered that they had put a ridiculous amount of paste on, so much so that it was leaking off the sides. I had to use an ancient surgical spirit as alchohol but unfortunately, I couldn't get it all off. Some of it is stuck on the green part almost under the metal part. No matter my efforts it was impossible, though I minimized it as much as I could. There's a small line of it stuck in the crevices of each side of the cpu's metal part.

Luckily, the paste I used (and that they hopefully used too after I gave them it and they said they would) is non-conductive. So I'm letting it dry for an hour and hopefully I can reapply and everything will be fine. I just really hope this doesn't affect performance or temps, even slightly.

Edit 2: I used an old toothbrush and it worked well, there's still miniscule slithers visible at an angle on the green and metal parts, though not much at all. Just waiting for it to dry now. Still worried this could cause some issues, even small?

With all slots occupied you want to put 1 set in A1 and B1 then A2 and B 2

Normal thermal paste isn't usually conductive so no worries if there's a tiny amount in a hard to reach place. Personally I wipe old paste just with toilet paper.

Going to insert the cpu soon, just curious if anyone knows the best software(s) for checking everythings running correctly and as it should? I've been suggested userbenchmark and passmark, but those seem to be more for performance testing than if everything is stable. Passmark might do everything I need though.

Oh hell no, that's a total random number generator. One of the most unreliable benchmarks ever.

Cinebench R23 is great as it gives a good reference and you can monitor temps at the same time, so you'll see how it warms up as well.

Blowing air out. The side on the left pic needs to be on the rear side, and the spinning fan part towards the cooler.

For GPU, I personally run few tests from 3dmark and then simply I test its stability* by playing less and more demanding games. For RAM, I use TestMem5. https://www.overclock.net/threads/memory-testing-with-testmem5-tm5-with-custom-configs.1751608/

*I run my GPUs stock for the first 3dmark run, then I'll overclock it to its maximum potential.

I used unigen and ryzen blender for stability testing lol, i remember testing my OCs and if the rig locked it needed moar vcore

Linpack is also great if testing OC'd CPU. Though as a Ryzen user, I don't manually overclock this one, but on my 2nd rig (X58 Xeon) it seems to be a great stability test.

So only issue I'm having right now is the fan control. The torrent has a fan hub which I've connected every case fan to (cpu cooler in the cpu fan header and exhaust fan on nearest fan header.) I've plugged the fan hub connector into the nearest sys_fan header, but I can't seem to change the different fans manually, through software or motherboard. There's just one option for all of them, I think. I don't really mind this but I'd prefer to be able to control them all manually, but the most important thing is the ability to completely shut them down. I can't seem to get them to turn off completely so it's hard to tell. Same with the cpu cooler. I know it's unwise to do it but I need to to isolate where a certain noise is coming from. Any ideas?

You have a Gigabyte board, you may have to change the fan type to PWM (as I have on all my fans) from BIOS.

edit: Using an empty paper towel roll in your ear is a good and cheap tool to listen where the most noise is coming from.

Noise is coming from the lower torrent fans. It sounds like a clicking sound, like the fans are very lightly hitting the thing they're encased in due to overtightented screws, but I doubt that would be happening to all 3 of them at once. It's probably just the sound they're supposed to make, unfortunately. Good thing the pc's more than cool enough to run at great temps at low fan speeds.
