To meet the demand of high-performance memory solution needed for professional filmmakers and content creators, the Lexar Professional CFexpress Type B Card DIAMOND Series provides unmatched read speeds of up to 1900 MB/s, dramatically accelerating your post-production workflow for enhanced productivity. And with blazing-fast write speeds of up to 1700 MB/s, quickly capture smooth RAW 8K, 6K and 4K video with ease. It is also backwards compatible with select XQD cameras.



Designed to leverage the capabilities of next-gen cinema cameras and mirrorless camera adopting the CFexpress Type A format, Lexar also unveils the Professional CFexpress Type A Card GOLD Series. Featuring superior speeds of 900 MB/s read, and 800 MB/s write, this card allows you to capture high-quality images and seamless 8K, 6K and 4K video. Lexar will also launch the CFexpress Type A Reader, which supports ultra-high-speed USB 10 Gbps transfer protocol via USB Type-C, in the coming months.

Even if it's not the good old Lexar, these CFexpress Type B cards (like XQD too) are much less prone to fail, so this means more options for us and more competition. I'm still using a fast uhs-I SD card, that's the speed limit of my DSLR anyway, but probably sooner or later I'll have to make the transition to those EVIL (="mirrorless") cameras...

Even though larger form factors means less prone to "failure" looking at user reviews paint quite a bizarre picture. Apart from corruption of files, failed cases, overheating cards along with complaints of compatibility issues(early adopter issues) with cameras with firmware upgrades from both Camera makers and card makers(Angelbird with requirement of using OEM reader to upgrade firmware).

The worlds highest advertised peak speeds, these aren't the actual sustained speeds, so you'll find these cards will still get trounced by ProGrade Cobalt's in real world testing. Stop spouting PR BS.
