Razer (RAZFF) is set to become privately held after shareholders voted to delist from the Hong Kong stock exchange in a privatization deal that values the company at $3.17 billion USD. The privatization scheme is led by a consortium of Razer's co-founders Tan and Kaling Lim who currently own 57% of the company along with private equity firm CVC Capital Partners. The plan was approved by over 75% of shareholders at a recent general meeting and will see the withdrawal of company shares from the Hong Kong stock exchange at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, 13 May 2022. This private ownership of the company isn't expected to last long with the owners planning to relist the company's shares in the US in the hopes of gathering a higher valuation. Razer continues to record growth with revenues of $1.62 billion USD in the 2021 FY, up 33% from the previous year.

The SEC should force them to move headquarters to the US. They wont but I think there is a tax break if they do.

That can not happen. The SEC has no such authority.

That said, I think going private will be an excellent move for Razer.
Yea I know, I think it should be a requirement. I wonder how long Razer will stay private.

Razer might be selling well to kids, but it's a meme company I'd never invest in.

I have loved my Razer Naga X a lot. I've had Razer products break like 2x regular Naga, 2x Deathadder and Salmosa.. but so far I've liked quality on this X  I use SteelSeries Prime Wireless with some specific games when I don't need that many buttons.

There is always a better Razer alternative, like there are MMO mice that cost half as much and perform better.

Razer is a huge meme machine and they keep being it. But anyways, this thread is about stock market, not their products.

Belief is not a part of the equation. Razer products have had a very consistent level of high quality. Quit your whining.

Except they're not. Except they rebrand an M-Audio mic and sell it for 3x the price, except they have an optical switch mouse that likes to double click. Quit on your fanboyism of this crappy children brand.

Point me to other "mature" peripheral brand that has Philips Hue integration with my home lighting appliances?

Stop with the disinformation and I'll shut up.

Since when are facts disinformation? You not shutting up only goes to show your pedantic of this brand.

Lol, Hue's are terribly overpriced. You can buy alternatives for much cheaper. God TPU has gotten so dumb.

I make my own ESP32 based light strips... I think the dumb ain't the TPU community. Or you are suggesting using alternatives that rely on remote servers in China?

The dumb is on your suggestions. Razer's software is trash and you don't need connection with those LEDs. Also what a big deal that you have Hue lamp integration. This is the bottom bar TPU has gotten, complete waste of time.

The double click issue is an issue for a lot of mouses. Any mouse using Omron switches will suffer from it and that's most mouses.

Razer Synapse 3 works totally on par with any other peripheral maker software offering enough customization. I use Razer for more than a decade, they have improved a lot.

Actually there's more to it. Difference from Chinese and Japanese Omrons, Huano switches do it as well. Though it's an optical mouse, the Viper. In theory it shouldn't do it as much as mechanical switches... but I've seen some that do it.

Razer have improved, but there are better brands.

Your opinion is not a simlitude of or for fact.

Opinion, alright. Since you're unable to do the research, I'll put it in front of you:

"The Pro model is priced at around $179.00 Retail".

The price went higher on other markets with the Razer, and the Uber Mic actually offers a less bloaty, better package.

You're being a knock wall by not accepting hard facts. Another waste of time.

That nonsense has no merit to reflect upon Razer as a company. You are offering little more than personal conjecture about product line partnerships and pricing that has no bearing on the quality of products offered by Razer as a whole.

Put another way, your point isn't one. Show information that has merit and supports your opinion with actual evidence or the mods will be asked to help you out with your toxic nonsense.

Razer can do as they please, I just don't support them after having a $80 mouse fail right after the warranty ended. Cheap internal components that broke. Had the mouse wheel fail - wouldn't spin or click anymore and constant double clicks on the left mouse button, constant tracking issues, constant problems with the Synapse software. Bleh, is about all I have to say for their products, be it hardware or software. The wheel failure happened 2 days after warranty. I emailed Razer and they said there was nothing they could do since the mouse was out of warranty.....2 days over warranty and even with all the other customer service emails I sent them about issues with the mouse and their software they didn't care.

I've been using a G502 from Logitech for about 5 years now, zero problems.
I've been using a $20, 5-button mouse from Microsoft for15+ years now and it still works like the day I bought it. The mouse has been with me through 3 different jobs and it get's used a lot since most of my work is on a computer.

First impressions are big for a lot of people. My first impression of Razer is that their products suck, lots of headaches and overpriced considering how long they lasted and how crappy my experience was with them.

To those that like Razer, that's fine, you can like them, but you can't convince me or others that dislike them just because you say so or you had a good experience with them.

I had a Chroma keyboard quite a few years back. Keys would often “stick” down virtually and require re-pressing to reset them (Unplugging the keyboard would fix it as well).

Ended up pulling it out and taking a hammer to it one day due to consistent and unrelenting interruptions to pivotal moments in games, and I’d had more than enough.

Their relapse software has been pure garbage too, causing service and interrupt issues to other brands of mice. Removed it from the problematic computers and the problem instantly resolves.

Zero interest in their products but that’s me…
