Back then they weren't bought by miners.
I know many people who have bought 3080/3090/RX 6800 (XT) with high price, and they don't use those for toy money.

It is true, then. x80 and x90 class cards will take over SLi and Crossfire's place, and people with more "normal" needs should look for x60 or maybe x70 SKUs instead.

Notice how your source says " Please note that this post is tagged as a rumor." at the top? Maybe you should do the same, as this could be utter bollocks.
The second sentence starts with the word "Allegedly" which means that this is unverified and potentially utter bollocks.

I don't think TPU needs to spoonfeed people with nanny-state disclaimers on everything. If people can't interpret basic English and think with a little autonomy, perhaps they should get their news from somewhere more dumbed-down ;)

Not going to happen. The Radeon RX 6700 XT provides miserable performance of only around 50% of the Radeon RX 6950 XT / RTX 3090 Ti.

This means lower in-game settings, and lower framerates, significantly so..

Probably has no clue, just spamming the twitter space... :kookoo:
I don't think he would risk his reputation as a very reliable leaker (NV mainly), if he didn't have a clue he will probably state it in the tweet also in order to imply that the comment regarding the disappointment is speculation and not knowledge, i don't know, probably, I'm just guessing, or the disappointment could be regarding performance/watt, not RDNA3 being able to surpass Nvidia despite +800mm² die size or whatever, did he clarified anything yet?

Doesn't seem like Nvidia cares too much about how their competitors are pricing. 3090s still sell for >1.5x more than 6900xt. Top end 30 series has been pretty resistant to AMD pricing due to their potential uses outside of gaming.
It's right there is no hope against marketing "just buy it" from Nvidia, I would say it's at the same level as Apple in this regard.

If Nvidia keeps both TDP at acceptable levels and the "best GPU crown", I believe the price increase will be proportional to performance gain.

nvidia mainly? Then he works for/with nvidia and for the best of his intentions he wants to sell you rtx cards, that's why he tries to dismiss the competition "as disappointing".

All the leaks Intel, Nvidia, AMD comes from themselves or partners and it's hype building blocks mainly so i don't follow all those guys (Graymon55, Kopite7kimi etc) and i read their leaks through TPU or Videocardz, so just to clarify, the NV part was just my speculation i may be wrong, but in any case the same must be true for Greymon55 for example (speculation again)

Twice as fast would be amazing if the same applies to the lower end, mid-tier and high performance cards (nope the 4090 and its inevitable bank-robbing-asking-price is not a high performance card, its a crime which should be reported)

Is that all, I was thinking at least $3000. Knowing Ngreedia, I'd be shocked if it was less $2500.
MSRP is slowly beginning to mean something again, so $2500 is a cool 67% more expensive than the 3090's MSRP. Sure, the silicon itself has 75% more shaders than a 3090, but the cost of 24GB of GDDR6X, the PCB, the cooler, the VRMs - none of that will scale up anywhere near as much.

Nvidia only cares about profits. They can sell 200,000 4090 cards for $2500 or 100,000 4090 cards for $3500. They'll likely have an entire team of market analysts, pshycologists and other customer habit experts working full-time on exactly what price point can extract maximum profit per die, which means that I don't think the price/performance of a 4090 will be too far away from that of a 3090.

You have to come on to the article to see that. It's clickbait. Their source at least tags it under the Rumor section.

keep dreaming
I mean, it's rumour vs rumour, so only a fool would get invested - but RDNA3 rumours put the RX 7900XT at 2.25- 2.5x faster than an RX 6900XT, something that's believable because AMD has plenty of experience successfully making complex products with insane transistor counts out of multiple chiplets.

Nvidia's performance rumours for Lovelace aren't claiming such big gains over Ampere as AMD's RDNA3 vs RDNA2 specs so there's a non zero chance he's right. Nvidia is firmly invested in the single massive die which has historically run into cooling limitations, yield limitations, interposer physical size limitations etc.

Anyone who's not a fool will just have a little patience and wait to see how they perform on the day the review embargos lift. It's not like you can actually buy one before then, anyway!

Pfft.
If you're going to judge a book by its cover, or to update the idiom, 'if you're going to TL;DR an internet post by it's title' then you have much still to learn about the internet, young padowan ;)

I wouldn't trust anything that guy has to say in the J2c video it clearly shows the same guy saying that AD102 4090 will be 600W not the 450W shown here at 3:02

That's precisely why I think they released the Ti series. They were setting the stage for raising their MSRP's, but they need a higher baseline to raise from than the 30 series started out with.

The 3080 was $700. To put that at what is likely $1200+, it would look terrible. No way to slice that except to release a 3080 12GB with a new effective MSRP of $1k. Now "only" $200 more. Same with the 3090. That was a "budget friendly" $1500, but Nvidia fixed that by releasing the 3090 Ti for $2000. Now only $500 more. Same with the 3070 at $500 versus the 3070 Ti at $600.

They released that entire line to juice the MSRP to make the next bump in MSRP's not seem as dramatic. So I wouldn't compare the 4090 pricing to the 3090. I'd compare it to the 3090 Ti. That's why that latter card had to come out no matter what. It was essential to look like they were doing a markup of $500 instead of $1k.

Kinda suggests the 4090 will be $2500+, the 4080 will be $1.2k+, the 4070 will be $650+ to me. That's the MSRP of the baseline cards. We all know you have to add another $100-200 for AIB cards.
