That's totally normal with PGA sockets. I remember people complaining about this already with S478 Pentium 4

I did it twice on there, once i figured out what i did wrong i never had a problem again

Yeah, it's something that you make that mistake the first time, and the second time years later when you've forgot that it's still a PGA CPU. :laugh:

Thinking about putting the high performance fans on the shelf for a bit, and enjoy some quiet until I need them again.

I have like 600cfm through the case at full speed, and about 270cfm hanging off of my cooler.. its a bit excessive..

I never broke a pga cpu by damaging pins, only crushed 1 die. I used a mechanical pencil to straighten pins

I have a few of those special headers..

It's quiet, and it's the fan that is included with their HR-02 Tower.

Slightly higher cfm than what came on the ARO-M14G/O, slightly louder by their specs on the site, it handles this Ry7 5800 oem perfectly in such a cramped mid/mini tower, heck it can handle the Ry9 5950 without crying (Without the windowsill offset the cooler would have never fit, this case is pretty narrow).

I got the cooler because I didn't need a seaparate kit like I would have for a Scythe Ashura/MugenMax, and its been 15 years since I used a Thermalright cooler (last was on Athlon XP, full Copper block)

On Bent Pins, nope.

The cpu die being crushed killed it.

Shit happens some learn some don't, made me think of when i was using a a ASUS maximus 775 mobo and i lost grip of the cpu and it hit the traces on the board and outright killed it.

Still have the board some were and if i can find it and this thread i will post a pic.

I kinda like the pins on the CPU.. A couple of my coolers apply a lot of pressure, I am not the kind of guy to leave a screw only half turnt

I'm flashing back to X58 man.. even got the thousand yard stare down pat. Hopefully this doesn't get too bumpy. 115x was good to me, except the lotto losing CPU, no problems.

1366 was good to me to, for the most part. Love/hate, give/take sorta thing.. compromise.. kinda like AM4 I guess lol..

You be amazed how much damage can come from slipping and a sharp corner of a CPU, just think if your holding the cpu fairly secure and your thumb slips there is a good chance your finger would be giving it a little more momentum. better to hold that grip haha.
