Star Atlas, a next-gen metaverse with triple-A game design and Unreal Engine 5 graphics built on the Solana blockchain, today announced its partnership with iBUYPOWER, a leading manufacturer of custom gaming PCs, and now the official computer hardware provider of Star Atlas. This is the first step in a long-term relationship to onboard new gamers to the metaverse.

"We're really excited to join forces with iBUYPOWER to accelerate the adoption of web3 gaming," said Michael Wager, Co-Founder and CEO of ATMTA, Inc., the principal development studio of Star Atlas. "There is a lot of skepticism around web3 gaming, and we're happy to partner with the leading gaming hardware maker because we understand the needs of traditional gamers. iBUYPOWER builds great products, and we're glad they share our vision and want to help get their gaming community in the Star Atlas metaverse so they can see just how great of a gaming experience it's going to be."

To celebrate this partnership, iBUYPOWER will be sponsoring the inaugural COPA, the first Star Atlas community event, by giving away a customized Star Atlas PC for the main competition. More details regarding the competition can be found in Star Atlas' official social media channels.

Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER, commented, "We love Michael and his team's vision for Star Atlas, and we love that they're focused on supporting their dedicated community. We're thrilled to be able to power an AAA-quality metaverse on the blockchain, and this is going to be a great opportunity to help onboard our gamers into web3 with a game we know they'll enjoy. The computers we're customizing for Star Atlas are out of this world, and they're going to be high-powered, quality builds we know our gamers and Star Atlas fans alike will love."

Beyond COPA, Star Atlas and iBUYPOWER plans include the commercialization of a range of equipment that will help blur the lines between the physical world and the Metaverse, and the inclusion of iBUYPOWER as one of the pioneering members of the Star Atlas ecosystem. As Star Atlas and iBUYPOWER continue to collaborate, stay tuned to @staratlas and @iBUYPOWER on Twitter for more announcements.

They're going to enable a cloud-based, synergistic blockchain metaverse using a web3 based AAA-quality digital experience delivered via 5G crypto fiber opportunity they know we'll enjoy.

Onboarding is that time when you start work at a new company and they try to indoctrinate you.

So it really is just busywork, then after all.

I briefly checked into Star Atlas. Saw ships for sale. A tie to cryptocoins. I left and don't really care to know more. We've already got a Star Citizen mess. CIG (Star Citizen) has raised 460 million USD and are on track for 500 million USD this year and 11 years after development started the game is still in Alpha.

Who’s their target market? Wealthy elementary schools? I can’t think of anyone beyond young princes and wannabe princes who would be sufficiently gullible or peer pressure vulnerable to spend money on this.

Based off the ludicrous amount of corpro-speak in the press release, it sounds like their plan is securing ridiculous amounts of investor capital and then figuring out if the platform is viable later. The fact that they they're touting this as "Blockchain based web3 premium metaverse experience" and then saying "we know they'll enjoy it (Star Atlas)" tells me the people behind this are so far removed from what players actually value in a game that it will almost inevitably flop, at least once that sweet, sweet investor capital runs out.

But its so funny :D

I mean, if we as a human species honestly fall for this, we honestly do deserve it. I think its part of evolution, now. How deep do we fall into the internet rabbit hole, Darwin wonders. This is evolution: throw massive amounts of crap at the wall and see what sticks.

Intelligence is increasingly determined as 'how well can you filter out the bullshit and distill truth in the sea of information'.

Its not even a joke, you see it everywhere. Some actors try the most insane shit online and some actors even succeed in creating a following doing so. Go figure. That's why we have these articles. For all those 'critical thinkers' these days.

Note my avatar, especially those little icons on the washing machine. All of this... was inevitable when we accepted social media for info gathering. Cause and effect. Its the perfect vehicle to push whatever nonsense you want and make it come off as credible.

Makes sense. I guess they took the approach of why try selling a product to princes when you can get them to give you their money (invest) instead.

Here's where Zuckerberg's Metaverse is going. The whole idea is a desperate attempt to run towards the next 'promise'.

Big Tech, like crypto... is 'forever in beta', and unable to transform into something that cannot be missed. Even now with the massive penetration of social media.
There is no profit, only a promise.

Kill them with fire, and do it now. Cancel that social media account, exercise your right to be forgotten, and wave this nonsense goodbye.
It took a pandemic, a climate problem and an ongoing war to figure out what's important again.

There are always trends in tech startups and some won't even materialize, every year there's something different you read in PR articles - 2016 - disrupt everything, 2017 - fintech, 2018 - blockchain, ICO, 2019 - serverless, next generation cloud, 2020 - crypto, edge computing, 2021 - NFT and now metaverse. I wouldn't take it too personally and there is always somebody out of touch from reality or just trying to push own crazy ideas and see if it works.

Yeah, social network are kind of addictive and not that social, but still sometimes useful if used in a limited way.

All on top on the worst Blockchain infrastructures in the Industry that must be reseted multiple times each week to be able to function. One which independent voices and reasearch showed multiple times to be actuall junk !
Solana Star Atlas, dead Man walking !
