EK has thrown their hat into the workstation ring with the Fluid Works S5000. Equipped with an AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X and two NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards, this system comes packed to the gills with number-crunching hardware. Not only does it deliver insane performance, but it is fully liquid-cooled, meaning it consistently delivers top results.

I like the cable management but is this their best when it comes to WC? I've seen better looking plumbing works in some 3rd world country hotels.
And that's given how much resources and know-how EK have!

Yeah, doesn't look that great, but it's also something targeted at worstation, not the usual boutique pc full of bling. Though using EK and workstation in the same phrase sounds a bit unsettling.

That keyboard and mouse bundle is a joke right? It must be right? Cmon, 15k for a system and they can't throw in an MX master bundle or like anything else other than their very cheap bundle? Pretty embarassing, might as well not include anything on a system of this level

I've setup 100K servers and It came with nothing. It seems the more expensive, the less accessories you get.

For a workstation it's actually fine. Their desktops look much cleaner, but that's a different market.

Hi,
Pretty bad when ek can't afford to use their own quantum torque fittings even the vanilla ones instead they use the cheapest possible alternative simple pinch clamps

Disagree, it shows they're smart :D

Special fittings are just for looks, pinch clamps are good enough for the application and easier to maintain if need be (reason why you'll also notice several quick disconnects between the main components)

Damn an an OK 8600K + 3080 not only is right there with it but can even outpace it in select situations, must be a CPU limitation for the gaming performance side at least.

Will have been fun to see a Overclocked version of that systeme in all test too. For see a idea of the potential it have for the CPU + GPU under the only "1600 Watt"

That distribution thing is blocking the front fans and it feels wrong and wasteful to run long tubes across the whole case length.

Not really. A lot of the stuff that "we" use in terms of fittings, hardline tubing, acrylic tops, nickle plating is actually really really bad. It exists entirely for looks, but it performs worse and makes maintaining the system a royal pain. If you've ever worked with any server type systems with integrated liquid cooling it looks similar. The type of tubing, clamping, etc you're using in higher end applications is nothing like what we use.

This is like complaining about a lack of RGB

The top of the case is so wide that it could probably fit 2x 480 triple layer 65mm rads, no need for the bottom sideways 480. but lost opportunity there. The tubing is very indusrtial, but it seems rushed like they were in a hurry, just bolting things to the walls, and the pumps are very heavy duty with long pipes sticking out of them at angles like some attempt at a steampunk theme or something.

And this product, is the reason I do not buy EK anymore. They became my competitor when I build workstations in this caliber.

Hi,
Indeed where is the rgb techs need lighting too

TBH if they made a premade like this that was not geared towards workstation stuff but rather just a general gaming thing I might get it, I prefer this sort of build than the bling. And while I'm at it, I want the old all ALU industrial cases back!

@crazyeyesreaper Any chance you could get some info from EK on those... seemingly bendable, semi-rigid tubing pieces scattered around this loop? Those look incredibly handy for certain situations.

Because this is an EK-branded workstation, I'm willing to take a wild guess that they are using their own product:

I’m guessing by gaming benchmarks that SLI doesn’t work or is supported anymore? Or is that what NV Link is now??

SLI was abandoned years ago. Even though legacy SLI hardware exists, game developers gave up configuring their software to take advantage of this technology. That's the primary reason for its failure. There are a number of factors discussed here:

SLI was replaced by NVLink in 2018 but the latter is really a solution for professionals not gamers. NVLink is restricted to five Turing cards (Titan RTX, RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 Super, RTX 2080, and RTX 2070 Super) and two Ampere cards (RTX 3090 and RTX 3090 Ti).

As the Gpumag article notes, SLI's prime days were circa 2015.

I'm not talking about the tubing. That's ZMT, that's obvious. I'm talking about the specific sections of tubing that are holding sharp angles and bends, look semi-rigid, and have a kind of ribbed surface. So yes, definitely talking about something you're not seeing:
