I agree - Even mayo straight from the jar won't make much difference between temps seen between cores.
Maybe higher temps across the board but certainly not between cores themselves.

Same between IHS and plate, MX4 vs mayo won't make much of a difference with that particular CPU as it runs cool, unless you're using the slim stock HSF inside an NZXT case :p

I used a tube of that one time when the MX-4 was sold out at the store I buy from. It's just as good, if not better than the MX-4. The hype of the MX-4 comes from the tremendous value it offers for its price, not from being the absolute best. The TG Kryonaut is also a good paste, imo, although a bit on the expensive side. I also tried the new MX-5 and hated it to no end. Never again.

Master Gel Maker, Kryonaut, or MX-4. These are my choices.

Hi, AGAIN, lol! Then it makes no difference if i use any of those 3, isn't it? Tell me something, the MX-4 has 8 years of longevity or it's just marketing? Thanks again.

Hi. :) No difference at all.

Honestly, I don't leave my systems intact for 8 years straight, but I never had any problem with any of these drying out. Thermal paste technology has come a long way in the last decade or so.

I think i'm buying a 13400F (10C/16T) when it comes out next year, but if i keep this one, i'll change it in a year aprox. What's your max temp running CB?

It's around 75-77 °C, but it's a hungry 11700 with a (technically) unrestricted power limit and a 280 mm AIO sitting on it.

The thing that surprised me more about the 12400 is its efficiency. Well, thanks for sharing and for your help.

Don't get me wrong, the 11700 can also be very efficient if it wants to be. It rarely asks for more than 50-60 W in games.

If locked at 65 W, I could run it with the stock noisemaker, and also way cooler than for example, a 3600 or 5600 (AMD fans: don't get triggered - read my build log, link in my signature). It's only that I like AIOs both aesthetically, for the silence, and because they eliminate the heat generated by the CPU from the chassis, so why not let the CPU run wild if I can. ;)

Well I'll be honest, that name is a joke. CM as a company went hell in a handbasket years ago... but anyway, not much of a difference. At least not with a locked low power chip, maybe you'd see like a 1C difference on an OC'd 12900KF with a custom loop but your parts? no way.

Once again, you could use mayo, really standard cheap paste and your temps would remain in the same levels, a 12400 isn't enough to saturate it, I mean you could try it if you don't believe me.

I've been using MX4 ever since I got into serious PC builds, I've used both the og and the 2019 version and "it just works".
Well, the whole story is that I had to smuggle it into my country and decided to grab 10 syringes when getting my current PC parts, see it's a precious elixir only few have the pleasure of enjoying... unfortunately, it's just paste not friggin diamonds but hey, that's the third world :D also using it for the Cellys and Athlons I get to build for clients would be a waste, unless they're paying that is.

I use MX for practically everything these days including XOC stuff when I do that.

As put here, it just works and that's reason enough for me to use it anyway.
