I'm still on the 2060 as I don't see myself getting a 3060 anytime soon with their pricing this horrendous.

Price cuts?
First they bump the prices from previous gen and they have been doing this for few gens now, then they use covid to literally kick the prices to a 300% over MSRP, and now they cut the prices to which are still so damn high considering previous gens and these cards have been almost 2 years in the market and hope stupid customers will buy because it's advertised as 'SALE' in the stores, smiling and saying it is for you gamers, meantime, they have sold the 3000 series GPUS in tens of millions to miners screwing the prices and blaming it on chip shortage :). Classic NV.

good luck seeing green boxes on your 2nd-hand (or rather 3rd hand) "definitely not a mined" GPU.

btw, ASUS STRIX RTX3060 12GB "OC" Edition is over $600 over here. What "official price cut" is this when sellers over here are inhaling copium harder than a heavy smoker?

space invaders is a good game :D

"Just buy it" :kookoo:
JTC obviously did not translate what Nvidia actually said about their quote "official price cut" when outside of the "great US of A" prices are still eye-gouging for a 2+ years old pixel pushers while a ton of ex-mining GPUs with unknown condition are flooding the market.

what he said was absurd in any country in the world. One wonder if he was doing any "favour" to Nvidia

more like he's showing his true colors that he is one of those shills after he made that video. If the dislike counters weren't disabled, he's gonna get ratio'd by all the gamers

I'm surprised Jay is encouraging people to buy those used cards now like today? I mean, normal person any gamer would consider this an advertising towards a scam which has been there for a while now and now they tell you to put on a blind fold and just buy it because the price dropped $200? It was overpriced so badly for so long and now $1600 is suddenly a good deal? WTF?
Not good Jay. Not good.

i still have the dislike button, it's a 4.9K but it's also not as accurate as before, but the comments say it all

I sincerely hope no one followed his advice, it's basically giving Nvidia a pass for all the shit they gave us.

Not good Jay. Not good.
I cringed at the title of the video and watching the first 5 mins was excruciatingly painful. I can say he has given into the copium machine and to his corporate overlords that doesn't consider him as their own and expects gamers to fall for such a scam.

bet his socials are getting bombarded by the "woke" squad roasting him for pitching a product no one wants to buy.

I watched 5 min as well while working and I said to myself 'wait what?' rewind the video to hear it again because i didnt believe what I'm hearing and he is literally encouraging to buy still overpriced NV used for mining cards just because they have dropped in price a bit. Today, buy it today like run to the store now quickly. WTF?

the inevitable reality of slipping into irrelevance is what makes anyone do stupid things.

You missed the best deal on the 3070ti, as did all the Prime Day reports! Best Buy was selling the Asus Tuf 3070ti for $449 for Total Tech members. I was lucky enough to get one before they ran out!

for a 3070ti seems like a good price on paper, but i would still not buy a card now, it's not even remotely crazy to imagine that performing like a 4060 and it coming out with a lower MSRP, lower power consumption

I still personally think people are nuts and completely out of touch with reality when it comes to gpu prices. And i'm not even factoring in the coming recession

That said if you REALLY needed a gpu today it's a good buy, if you didn't it wasn't a smart buy as you'll see in a couple of months.

Lower MSRP? I doubt that.
Across the gens starting for instance with a 960 $199 to 1060 $299 to 2060 $345 and finally to a 3060 $329 which is a fake price since even now, the price for a 3060 is higher than that and considering market and all the quirks that are happening with the 3000 series sales you still believe 4060 will be lower MSRP than a 3060? I seriously doubt that but lets hope for the best.

blame my English, but what i meant to say was that the 4060 MSRP should be under the $449 he paid now for that 3070ti. But hey the 3060ti initial MSRP was $399.

I'm not blaming you nor your English. Saying 'should be under' has no merit in my opinion since it is all based on wishful thinking. I can bet that the price for a 4060 will be higher than the MSRP of a 3060 for sure. How high? Time will tell but $400 is a minimum I think.

so you think it starts at $400, still under what he paid. Unless you think it will be over $449 we are saying the same thing but you are disagreeing with me?

but sure it's just suppositions, i don't own a crystal ball, but i doubt it will even be $400, we'll see. Increasing the prices with insanely less demand and a recession on the way does not seem like a logical perdition to me.

Sure it is. He paid more due to price hikes even though MSRP states differently. How do you know 4000 series wont have the same price hikes as the 3000 series? Everything around points it will happen again and they will definitely find a way to blame something for 50% or a 100% price increase over MSRP. $400 MSR but price ranging from $600 to $800. For me, that's the scenario I believe has a very high probability of happening.
What I'm saying is, You say he paid more and should have waited because the price will be lower for the 4060 for instance. It may never happen that the price in fact will be lower. Even though someone will be able to buy for a $400 for instance, it's not like everyone will be able to buy for that price. A handful of customers will by for MSRP (just like it was with 3000 series and AMD's 6000 series) and 99% will have to get it with the price increased due to whatever reason. (scalpers, mining, electricity, chip shortage you name it)

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
None of those cards offer a significant enough improvement over the $699 3080 10GB to be worth much more than that for gamers. The 3080 12GB is the least awful step up here and from there it's practically impossible to make a case for the 3080Ti or either of the 3090s.

Also, the $699 3080 MSRP wasn't exactly a great price in the first place but it was at least in line with previous xx80 cards once you account for the China trade tariffs that have jacked up the cost of almost everything.

All GPUs have been overpriced since Nvidia did the jump. The most accessible modern GPU was the 3060 laptop ($1100-1700) in terms of price/performance (I have one). It is even in the Steam Charts. The fact that they sold most of their inventory was unavailable to most DIY customers like us since 2020 is one thing. The fact that the Crypto bubble burst just when production has caught up to perceived demand is the problem that retailers have. I have seen the budget cards come up in price as a result. The Gigabyte 6500XT was $219 CAD at Memory Express when I got one. That same card is now $369 CAD from the same vendor. The 3050 is $250 more than it should be. I predict that the prices will go even lower though. I could see the delay of 4000 series GPUs to after Black Friday and some absolutely killer deals on 3000 series cards not from Nvidia but the retailers trying to clear inventory and recover some costs as I don't see Nvidia adjusting the price of their cards to a point where it would be amicable for most PC Gamers. The Games being bundled don't hold as much water in a World where Epic, Humble, Uplay, Steam and GOG provide plenty of Free or low cost content. The funny thing is most of us would happily pay $1000 ($700 US) for a card that is 80-100% faster than the previous Gen best. These nose bleed prices are ridiculous though. It is probably why those handhelds like the Steam Deck (among others) are selling like hotcakes. I am still waiting for my notification from Steam, it's been like 4 months.

I was just reading an article on PCGamer that speculates that the 4080 and 4070 will be delayed until later this year. Possibly even early next year due to the glut of 3080 and 3070 in the retail channel. The 4090 is still on track for release in October. I agree with this even though it's just rumor at this point. It's less painful to move the inventory even at a lower margin than to be stuck with them entirely.

Launching the most expensive card first and ONLY this year shows Nvidia's true lack of caring about a "customer".
They cater to the wealthy person only. Shameful.
