You're great at lying. In reality 3800XT and 10900K are both a whole lot faster in MT tests:

I was talking about MT performance. Intel Core i5-13600K is faster than a prev-gen i7 part. ST performance was never the topic of this conversation.
The 10900 and the 5800x are usually neck and neck in MT perfromance, it entirely depends on what you are using

Sill dont know what you on about.

5800X is faster than the 10900K in MT
I never mentioned the 10900k, you said the 5600x is faster than the 3800xt which is not the case. It's even slower than the 3700x

There's no use calling it 10 nm any longer. Regarding nanometers, TSMC cheated, Samsung cheated, Intel cheated a bit less but then caught up, so it's 7 Intel units now. It never was 10 nm really.

To clarify once again I said the following in this thread.
It's expected that with less threads newer CPUs should be faster in MT and ST.

1) the 5600X is much faster than 3700X and 3800X in ST and overall CPU tests on TPU it came out ahead of both CPUs.
2) the 5800X is faster in both MT and ST than 10900K according the review on this site with CB.

More a case of you nitpicking has my full comment was:

Ryzen 7 5800X beating the Core i9 10900K?
5600X beating the 3800XT?

Remind me the last time it has happened outside of the initial Zen 1 release.
To be fair Birdie only asked for an example either than Zen1 and I gave him that. End of story.

So whats it supposed to compare to then? there are no 6950X yet from AMD

Whats the highest tier AMD chip at the moment again?

Well this thread is not about AMD vs Intel. Lets hope the usually suspects dont turn it into that.

Already too late for that. The IDF is already in this thread.

The 5800x3d. Spectacular cpu, plenty of MT performance for the price :p

Raptor Lake looks better and better every time I look at it. I hope there is a KS, and that there is not much performance falloff with DDR4. I would gladly retire my 5950X for one.

That is a good one

These results change EVERYTHING!! No way AMD will ever compete with 13600k unless of course they come out with a new CPU which would result in those results changing EVERYTHING!!! No way Intel would be able to compete with those AMD CPUs unless of course Intel comes out with a CPU called the 14600k which would change EVERYTHING!!! And no way AMD could compete with Intel unless of of course AMD...

The thing is that 1P/2T equals 2E or 1000 points, so they don't need that many P cores to win the SP score, we need a glorified Pentium Gold with 2P/20E.

The ST score destroys the 5950x not bad for a much cheaper CPU.
The 7600X also destroys the 5950X in ST too. Zen 3 has relatively low clocks, that won't be the case for Zen 4, so that is one area Intel won't have an advantage anymore for ST.

This thread and comments remind me of kids arguing who's dad is better :)

Intel will be fast and consume more power (especially at the top end) obviously the stay competitive. AMD will make it though and their CPUs will be also competitive. AMD has a node shrink Intel doesn't.
I get why there is no chipset change for Intel. RL is merely a refresh which tells a lot. Bump in clocks more cache e-cores number increase, power usage up. I would not be surprised if the e-cores were clocked lower than AL to save power since RL has more of them. Pcores need more juice so these need a bump thus 5.5ghz.
At least that is what I think.

The 7600X also destroys the 5950X in ST too. Zen 3 has relatively low clocks, that won't be the case for Zen 4, so that is one area Intel won't have an advantage anymore for ST.
That is kinda irrelevant. Compare it to a 12th gen CPUs to see the improvement not to a two year old CPU which is being replaced this year. Obviously RL is not competing with 5000 series ryzen.
Better focus on 12th gen vs 13th gen to see where the improvement is if there is any. How much better RL is vs AL and the question if AMD with the new ryzen can catch its performance at what power consumption cost.

Well i think i will be buying AM5 and a pitchfork, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. I like ADL but the anti bullshit on TPU makes me puke.

It's not TPU, it's all over the internet. Everyone complains about Intel's stagnation and the constant number of cores- and here we are - AMD for 5th generation in a row has kept the same number of cores (actually, they decreased them with zen 3, from 8 at 300€ to 6!) but everyone is ecstatic about it. That's insane isn't it
