This is just the sort of thing I love doing and would be very good at, having a very good command of English. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time for it nowadays and hope you get someone good.

Glad to see you wanting to improve the quality of English on TPU as it's sometimes lacking, spoiling an otherwise decent story.

You should apply matey.

My shit is English : )
I've been thinking about it, but my main concern is that I'm lazy. When I get home from my full-time job, I pretty much just want to shut down for the rest of the day.

Until this week, I've been working 50-hour weeks (how else could I afford my 6800 XT?). Now that I'm close to actually getting somewhere with my job, they've made my schedule more reasonable.

So do I. Not to achieve perfection but to learn. As an example, I may write "wait for" but then ask Elgoog what is the difference between "wait for" and "wait on".
Oh my god, I do this all the time.

"Ugh, is it 'bare with me' or 'bear with me?'"

"Am I using all of these figures of speech correctly, or am I gonna make myself feel like an idiot even though no one cares?"

It's bear with me. It would also be bear with me if you had a bear with you. Not to be confused with "to keep and bear arms". What a crazy language English is.

Wish I had the time for a second job, I believe this would be right up my alley. Also unsure of what it pays, an international job could go either way, but labour is pricey in Australia...

I'm nosy and want to know the pay as well. Some sites pay per word, others flat rate and very rarely is it per hour.

Oh this will be fun.
Poor w1zzard will have about 500 legit emails, 5,000 confused emails about something else, and 50,000 spam messages from RTB about frogs.

Even I sent in an e-mail. Isn't sitting at home smashing a keyboard for 2 hours a week everyone's dream job?

I've been reading book series done by collabs with two or more authors including a series where an author passed away and his friend finished the works off - and seeing the confused mess of British English, American English and Strayan English in the same novel made it very clear that 'English' is in fact three dwarves in a trench coat and no one will ever, EVER agree on correct spelling and grammar

Nah. He can checkout the frog bible anytime no need to spam it. I'm not that annoying.

In other words, w1zzard knows my grammar skills are subpar for proofreading already lol. I need not apply. I think the auto correct for two space after periods in articles exists solely because I learned on a typewriter and could not unlearn it.

I dunno - Has anyone asked the flies for their opinion about that?

Certainly not me even though I'm fluent in Georgia Cracker and a few other (English?) dialects. Doesn't help I'm kinda dyslexic too these days so you would probrably see some oddly spelled words at times making the read "Fun" so not going there.

Might not agree, but imo English belongs to England and Australia where we exported it too :p My only problem is English(American) the language in America should be called American which would end lots of confusion, even though it is based on English, it is their language not ours.

Same basic thing about "Football" in that some across the pond from here call it "Hand Egg" and that's reasonable.
You have Soccer, Rugby and Hand Egg, all of which are different inspite of the name.
BTW I'm looking foward to watching some Hand Egg later...

Well, you know what they say about the buzz over something in the news.... I guess it depends on "What" the something is - Technical, stinky or whatever.
