Im curious how much of an improvement over 12th gen CPUs Intel's 13th gen will have. AMD is being kinda silent about the Zen4 or moderate leaks but Intel goes all out with the leaks. I wonder, how much of an upgrade the 13th gen will be.

Zen4 desktop CPUs will get on sale much sooner and most possibly the full range from 6 to 16 cores at once. The same thing happened with Zen3.

Since I have no big reasons to upgrade my i7 3770K CPU, I think I will wait for 14th gen, Meteor Lake ones. If the rumors are true, then we will see 20% IPC gain over previous gen, while consuming way less... Plus it seems that Intel wants to release this one in spring, so only half of year difference.

Depending how long you wait to 'upgrade' or 'build new' you can get a huge improvement

10 years out of a platform is pretty good. It's how long I ran my old amd 955be cpu for. My mom has it now, still going good since 2008 lol

I have had the 3770K. Pretty good cpu and as far as I know it is still running OK in my friend's computer. Kids have fun with it and so far no complaints. It's been more than 12 years I think and it is still running fine.
