AMD Ryzen 7000 Series Retail Box Revealed

Here's the first render of an AMD Ryzen 7000-series retail box. Shown here, is what a Ryzen 9 7000-series PIB package could look like. It shows what is possibly a thick cardboard box with the processor window located front and center, instead of one of the sides. The front face features a prominent dark AMD Arrow logo with the processor window in the middle. The side features a Ryzen motif with the "9" brand extension shown prominently. From the looks of it, the Ryzen 9 7000-series box appears to have a tray-type design, in which an inner tray slides out from the sides. It's possible that the Ryzen 7 7000-series and Ryzen 5 7000-series come in a simpler monolithic paperboard box.

The source of this render also revealed to VideoCardz that the Ryzen 7 7700X will launch at an identical SEP pricing to the Ryzen 7 5700X, which is USD $299. The 7800X, on the other hand, could be priced higher than the 5800X launch SEP, which could put it around $399. Similarly, the Ryzen 9 7900X and 7950X could be priced higher than the 5900X and 5950X. AMD is expected to unveil the Ryzen 7000 series "Zen 4" desktop processors at an even on August 29, with market-availability slated for September 15.

Pretty cool. I appreciate the use of cardboard rather than plastic. No telling how much plastic is inside the box, though.

Anyway, I wonder why the picture looks like it's been AI upscaled. The AMD logo on the processor looks distorted in that very distinct sort of way.

So 7700X is $299 and 7600X is less than $299, let's just say only -$50 difference at $249 (the difference should be higher) and 7900X is higher than $549, so according to this, AMD is willing to sell a cut-down 6core Zen4 chip+ 6nm iod at $249 max, so at least $50 less than 5600X (and this time the TDP has increased also according to leaks at 105W requiring better cooler bundle or no cooler at all) but is unwilling to sell 2x cut-down chips+1x iod (and probably without a cooler like 5900X) at double the price of 7600X minus the iod and the cooler cost.
If 7700X=$299 & 7600X=$249 then normally the difference would be $249X2-$50 (iod+cooler) = $449 for 7900X and they suggesting something like $599 for 7900X?
Am I reading this correctly?

The iGPU doesn't add anything significant.
A 12 core 680M (2.2GHz) sits inside the 15W TDP of 6800U...
This will be a 4 core part (there was rumors also for 2 cores only) probably clocked similar or lower.

More likely the higher power is coming from the rumored base clock and boost clock increases. Even Vega 8 barely reaches 30W on its own when balls to the wall with a 15% OC at 1.2V+ SOC.

I'm not even sure they'll make full use of the entire TDP increase in this generation. 230W PPT gives them an increase of nearly 90W over AM4. 230W on AM4 can only just about keep under 85C sustained with custom loop.

if the 3CU rumors are right, 2D and encoding is just about all this new chiplet iGPU will do, and it's all it should ever need to do.

Everything will get higher MSRPs, because inflation / money depreciation. 9.1% officially in US, but companies can of course aim for a more realistic 20% or more...

Yes of course. When I say "ALL used for" I mean that I'm expecting Ryzen 7000 to be very powerful.

It may cost more to have a second box designed, printed, processed, shipped, constructed and filled over just using one box that already holds a CPU with a cooler.

Yeah if only they weren't designing new boxes with every new CPU series release. But hey, it's better to ship a box with plastic insert instead that takes up 80% of the space.

My 5900x box came empty (aside from the CPU). There was no other insert inside the box, I know this for a fact because the box was very light and it was partially crushed.
I don't know what their new packaging will entail, it could be similar to what was used in the past or it could be overly complicated just to be different?
Or it could be laziness and they don't want to design a second, smaller box for CPUs without a cooler.
Or it could be simplicity, regardless of what more it may cost or even if they would save a little money to use a smaller box for CPUs without a cooler.
Or it could be an issue with their automated packing system (if they use one) for boxing up CPUs.
Or it could be something else that I can't think of.
It's just a bunch of "what ifs" that won't change how it's done and it won't give us a peace of mind trying to think about why things are done the way they are.

Yes i read it, in the same rumor 7900X was $599 and 7950X $699 so it is in contrast with this rumor (Ryzen 9 7950X higher than 5950X $799)
In any case it doesn't make sense to sell the 6core at $199 and then asking 3X for the 12core when in the past the delta between them was just 1.83X (it doesn't make sense in relation with the cost, if you are willing as a company to sell one cut-down Zen4 72mm² 5nm chip + one 126mm² 6nm IOD chip (nearly 20% bigger than 6nm Navi24...) at $199, i don't see the reason then to ask +$400 for just one more cut-down Zen4 72mm² 5nm chip...
Also it doesn't make sense in relation with the competition, 7900X will have similar gaming performance and multithreading performance with i7 13700K imo (≤2% difference in 1080p gaming and ≤10% difference in multithreading apps like CB23 in favour of 7900X in a AMD positive scenario) so at $599 it won't be competitive at all with 13700K (or 13700KF).
