Sure I have, but 2TB @ $300 is still $1,200 @ 8TB. Sure, it's actually realistic to fit 4 SSD's in a case as opposed to 16, but it's still a long shot from the value that an 8TB HDD can give you in terms of storage.

Hard drives will probably always be around for mass storage of huge amounts of data simply because of the cost-to-capacity ratio. SSDs still do have their place in the market. SSDs are used for your main system/OS, programs that are loaded on startup, and any and all programs you want fast performance for. Anything else like your multimedia and pr0n collection can be on your old spinning rust HDD.

It's not hard to see metrics for SSD's vs Raptor HDD's... just go back like 8 years for the first ssd reviews and you will find them. Back then it was a joke comparing them because of how fast the ssd's were compared to hdd's, now it's just silly.

Old review I know but crucial did eventually come out with bigger capacities. I think they go as high as 2TB now.

Only mentioning it because the price of these SSDs have been really dropping as of late and I was considering picking one or two up.

Shame the review wasnt revisited with the higher capacity drives.
