Laptop specs are a bit meaningless nowadays : on paper you would think that the gigabyte would just be faster (lower res, better GPU, same CPU) but there's so many variables at play :

Laptop reviews are tricky. The GPU is using too much power so the CPU actually has less power, that's all, in your example. Get the 3070 Ti model instead, the 3080 ti uses the same chip anyways in laptops, unlike with desktops, the 3080 is just a 3070 anyways. I know Gigabyte is claiming to use Microsoft Azure AI in their latest models to get the CPU versus GPU power distribution right. Perhaps they have improved that.
Gigabyte is unbeatable right now. Forget MSRP, I see the Aero 16 for $1675 USD right now. That's the lineup more high end than the Aorus ones, this is the creator all metal laptop.
16.0" Thin Bezel QHD+ 2560x1600 miniLED Display, 165 Hz
Yes MINI LED with HDR 1000 and 100 percent DCI colour coverage, 16:10 ultra thin bezels on every side, 165 hz. Crazy good price. At least Gigabyte has back to school pricing right now.
12700h/3070 ti/16gb/1TB etc.
5 pounds light / 2.30 Kg.
Save almost $1000 USD compared to the Lenovo with upgraded storage, and get the world's best mini LED display in a laptop? Yes.
You can also get the Aero 17 with 4k/120hz mini led, and 2TB of storage, for $2150 USD. But I think 1600p 16:10 is better than 4k imo. 17 inch weighs more and is much wider, but not taller. It is 120hz instead of 165hz, and for the life of me 1600p and 4k look the same on a laptop.
