I am using Thermalright TF7 right now, it came with my coolers.. I had a big tube of TF8 before, so I figured it wouldn't be as good as that. I had a real hard on for SYY for the last year or so.. but not sure I will be buying another tube, this is good stuff.

I said it before and I'll say it again:

I am convinced computers need judicicious amounts of thermal goo to lube the gears. It has to work like that.

Maybe this is why ASRock has so many gear logo motherboards.

If you have enough paste and the correct mounting pressure can you even have air bubbles?
I guess a better question would be: "What are the right conditions to cause air bubbles when applying thermal paste?"
Air bubbles debunked!

Ok this is one TIM application method I haven't seen tested before.

Pros: Thinner and more consistent application. (not too thick)
Cons: Finger cancer?

Thoughts?
I use less than that, maybe less than half with a plastic wrap on finger

Heat sink pressure is not enough, I found it's good to rotate/spin the heatsink 15° clockwise and versa a few times, this spreads evenly and gets TIM to those areas not covered.
This is the way.

Doing well Shrimp. Still poking around here and there. I'm not abusing my gear quite as hard as I was before but still turning the screws occasionally. How have you been?

Why got a lot fingers in a lot of pies? I even lick the spatula
Paste sticks to your finger and gets wasted. Just wiggle the heatsink and lose nothing. I gloat about how many times I use a single tube.

This is the way.
Shank you ;)

That's very good to hear! As long as everything is good in life, OC is just an added benefit! :D
