People are struggling to make ends meet. And it will get only worse with this inflation and skyrocketing energy prices and bills.

So, I very much doubt that the current graphics card pricing, which in its essence is not vital for one's survival, is welcome by the vast majority of potential buyers.

If it lowers to $650-$700, then would be much better and we can talk.

Not to mention that a new generation is coming soon, so this performance tier will drop to the 4060 Ti - 4070 level.
You are not going to sell a 4070 for $900, no matter what.

You asked me to respond here, and I have a 6900 XT and really like the card, but I can't really comment on its value for several reasons:
- I was so supremely privileged as to have the cost covered by a research grant (which also means the card isn't technically mine, but rather I'll likely have to buy it off of my employer when my project finishes if I want to keep it)
- It was bought in the middle of the GPU drought, at a massively inflated price that I would have never, ever considered if I was paying for it myself
- It's an XTXH silicon variant, meaning it was even more expensive than most 6900 XTs
- It was bought out of necessity at the time, after first placing an order for a much cheaper variant that subsequently failed to deliver for nearly six months, as well as quite a few rounds of F5-mashing on AMD's own web store around the time they supposedly got new stock. My old Fury X simply wasn't cutting it for the work that I needed the GPU for any more. If there had been other GPUs available at the time, even with the grant I would have bought something at half the price.

So, as for value - I really can't comment from my own experience. I would never have bought it if I had to pay for it myself at that time - and likely wouldn't at all, given the price bracket. Right now the cheapest RX 6900 XT here in Norway is pretty much exactly 10 000 NOK, which is still way out of my budget. I did pay 7000 for my old Fury X back in 2015, and I do have a better job now than I did then, but that's still just too much for a GPU IMO. No GPU is worth that much, even if you're like me and want to keep it in use for as long as possible. Paying for some extra performance for longevity is good IMO, paying that much is just silly.

On the other hand, if you're in the US and seeing the types of prices people have been reporting there - around the $700 mark - that makes a lot more sense if you can afford it. That makes it pretty good value IMO - for a high end card, that is, which are inherently terrible value to begin with. When the 6900 XT is for some reason cheaper than the 6800 XT or 6800, that obviously beats them out easily - but in perf/$, depending on your desired resolution a lower end GPU is most likely far ahead. And even if the power consumption is offensive - which it is - at least it has plenty of poential for undervolting and underclocking, and can be very efficient if you go that route - but that also of course means sacrificing performance in the name of efficiency to some degree, which again goes against the value proposition.

I haven't had any problems with my card, and I'm very happy with it overall, but IMO buying a 6900 XT - or any high end GPU - only makes sense if you have the money to spare to begin with.

How does it differ from the regular variant?
AFAIK it's a specific bin for higher clocks, meaning it shows up in SKUs with high factory OCs, as well as the 6900 XT Liquid Cooled Edition (regular 6900 XTs use Navi 21-XTX, not XTXH, while the 6950 has a new bin called KXTX). Since I have no interest in overclocking, I haven't explored it much, but my experiences with undervolting and underclocking match other reports I've seen around the web: that these chips really don't handle low voltages well. At stock the GPU core voltage is set to 1.2V, and I've seen reports of people successfully undervolting regular XTX silicon to ~1V at stock clocks. Mine on the other hand essentially doesn't allow any meaningful undervolting at stock - but then the stock clocks are also very high. Undervolting at lower clocks is also really, really tricky to get fully stable. Hence why I'm relatively happy with my quick-and-dirty underclock and its massive power reduction.

@Valantar - please be so kind and share with us the exact model of your card and the code you have on the labels.
This way people will identify more easy the model you have in case some1 will decide to buy that model.
Cheers

It's a PowerColor Liquid Devil Ultimate. All Ultimate models are XTXH silicon, while the regular Liquid Devil is XTX, AFAIK. The same goes for all other PowerColor 6900 XTs where there are Ultimate SKUs too, like the Red Devil.

I'm not at home now and won't be for quite a while, so I'm afraid I can't give more detailed information than that.

Are you happy with the price vs performance of this graphics card?
No since AMDs Voltage/Power/Clock Limits make it overclocked barely different to a much cheaper 6800XT. (my 6800XT Aorus Master is acutally faster than my 6900XT Nitro + when i overclock both to their absolute stable limits)

Have you had any problems with this graphics card of any kind?
Some Games at the time of the release of these Cards and older have some small visual issues.
Black Ops Cold War for example has flickering triangles on a lot of surfaces.
BFV has flickering screen space reflections.
Rainbow Six Siege has the same triangles as BO:CW in blood textures when using vulkan.
(these are RDNA2 issue in general and not with this card alone)

otherwise i had zero problems compared to the awful launch and first 18 months with RDNA1. (but one 6900XT died after 4 weeks)

That sounds like a manufacturing defect... what was the brand of that graphics card?

XFX Merc 319 Black Edition (bought around a week after release)
card worked fine for around three weeks and then it started artifacting, crashing and freezing in games.
4-5 days later it just died after sitting idle at the desktop.

Sounds like weak solder joints that couldn't stand up to thermal cycling. I assume you got a refund?

As I said, I'm not at home and won't be for a while - likely a month, maybe more - so I can't get that information for now. And yes, that listing @Chomiq posted matches my GPU exactly (I've also previously tried to upload its BIOS and gotten the response that it was already in the database, so it's likely an exact match). All the information you want should be in that listing.

There's also this:
I assumed that it was for your work computer as in the one you use while doing your work but it seems that it's for your private computer so good thing that your employer paid for it eh?
But that is the good thing about having a 'bullshit job' everything is paid for by the swedish taxpayer.

Lol, no, I work for a Norwegian university. And yes, it is for a work computer, but as I've been working from home for the past two years, it has naturally been located there. For the work I do, there isn't much of a difference between a personal and work computer, given that my work is studying video games. It's the kind of job that is simultaneously fantastic - part of my job is literally playing games! - and horrible - playing games is now work, and far less enjoyable. And it's not the type of work that's easily confined to regular working hours, meaning it would be extremely detrimental to my work if that GPU was kept at an away-from-home office.

... so, maybe rather than trying some meaningless "gotcha" for something you know jack-shit about, maybe keep it to yourself the next time around?
