Sivga brings out a brand new dynamic driver using a beryllium-coated LCP diaphragm and installs it in a more premium set of headphones. The new Sivga SV023 puts out a warm, vocal-first tuning that is complemented by a wide dynamic range and good detail retrieval in addition to nice aesthetics and a satisfying accessory set too!

That case looks like ass, by which I mean an ass.

Yikes, it really does. That had to have been intentional, because the case would have functioned perfectly well without the crackcrease.

On a less trivial topic, what is it about reproduction of higher frequencies that causes response curves above 2 KHz to be so wobbly?

What does it say about us that, in response to a review of $450 headphones, we're talking about how much its case looks like a butt? :-/

Stupid stuff does matter. I for one like a good box and a good PACKAGE (get your mind out of the gutter, even though I was the one calling the ass case an ass, oh well) that comes with a product. It does matter. Either go BIG (insert more sex jokes) or just give me a basic heavy cardboard box. I actually do appreciate that companies like say the horrid apple (I use their stuff and I judge me for that) do put an effort into good packaging and you can keep the stupid box. The Oculus Rift is a great example of this where the box is so outstanding it also functions as a carrying case. If I'm going to store it, I'd like a good box.

Also as VSG said first impressions matter a lot. We don't like to admit it but a good box opening and "ooh, ahh" at the quality of it and the stuff that comes with it is amazing. We all hate that cheap ass box the TVs come in with the styrofoam nonsense and odd cardboard slabs and important parts in cheap plastic and then unfolding the instructions that have fold lines and laying it out like a chart on the floor. That fucking sucks. But you ever shelled out $$$$$ for a limited edition say game? That comes in a not cheap box, with the items inside nicely fitted, high quality paper, the instructions are in a nice book on high quality card? Maybe a velcro to open and close it? There's a reason you can sell a physical copy of something for several times the digital value even if all you are getting is a good box and some fancy ass paper. We are tacticle creatures, we like this stuff.

At the end we all know the type of box you just tear through or take a knife to vs the type you gently open to see what's inside. And to go gently open a box and see a leather ass starting up at you would be kinda funny. I mean I love Moondrop and Crinacle but god damn you mother fuckers why in the fuck is everything covered in softcore anime girl porn pictures? The box is good, but I'm not going to put that on my shelf. Luckily the back shows a diagram of the design, usually, so that's fine.

Now lets all make jokes about Jeff Bezos Space Choad, I wonder if it had a good box?

Let's stick to the topic now please, this isn't a MOONDROP product review. Plenty of those on the way too.

yep hence why i stuck them in a spoiler...

but right i got side tracked, i blame the cow udder carry case, but(t), ok, my bad.

one thing i find odd is the 4.4 to 3.5 adapter, just a bit odd since they are 300 ohm unit that would be used more statically with a desktop AMP that has a 4.4 Bal,
although i saw some nice portable DAC with a 4.4 recently that could drive 300 ohm without much pain Like the Fiio KA3, Bal 4.4 output power is 56mW @ 300ohm, should be enough ,
ah, no, the 4.4 make sense then, you'd need the balanced output for nomad use :ohwell:

and the off putting thing is the length of the cable seems a bit short for a static use (i saw no mention of the lentgh, after rereading 3 time the review  ) and at 449$ it feels a bit cheap, even compared to cheap IEMs that have thicker cable (and also OCC oxygen free monocrystalline copper )

well one is a minor grip and the other is the true grip i have, other than that i always liked SIVGA design the wood (walnut?) give them a really nice look.

:ohwell:     ahahahah ah ... ahah ... ok time to schedule an appointment with my ophtalmologist (hearing aid can wait ... i am fine on that side  )

2m well still 80cm more than a standard nomad cable but 1m shorter than a home/studio cable, not a bad compromise (although odd one more time that the cable in 3.5mm will be longer than the 4.4mm, does not matter, tho, as i discovered for high empedance you need Bal. thus 4.4 or 2.5, or an adequate DAC-Amp with a good power output on the single ended 3.5 )

1) The higher the reproduction frequency the more careful companies have to be since you can literally damage the ears if it's too loud. Add in the various other damping factors associated with drivers and the quest to get increased treble extension and now you have a lot of factors at odds with each other.

2) First impressions matter a lot lol
A dB is a dB any extended listening at elevated SPL will damage your hearing has no frequency dependence. 90dB for 8 hrs is OSHA standard.

True, but even there we have loudness factors and how different frequencies affect HRTF. If you look at the Fletcher Munson curves, the human ear is more sensitive to the upper mids and treble:

Anyway we are past the point of practicality when we get here so it's best to practice quieter listening :)
