I don't see PRO on the box only 2000.

I'm wondering if the name is set in stone yet.

Single slot cooling, one power connector - must be good news for the 55nm

How can you be impressed or not with something that isn't out yet. There aren't even any numbers out, unless you trust the inq. How is AMD winning you over?

The series of card is not due to be replaced until next spring i read. So now with prices roughly the same as what they where almost a year ago, I'd say you should be less happy to buy one of the dx10 cards now as its "upper range" life will only last till spring.

Meh, I think the 7900GS and x1950pro are tied for that respect, with the 7900GS edging out a bit due to catching up at OC'd speed to the 1950pro which doesn't OC to the levels the GS does. And this is coming from a guy that owns a 1950pro, I did my homework, but I wanted a large, quiet cooler, and good mid-range performance, the 1950pro from Powercolor w/X2 won out at the time.

I do hope that there will be some dual slot cooler options for the 2950Pro's, even if they run cool, I'd still like to see the heat exhausted from the case. I'm sure the aftermarket and companies like HIS will take care of that for us!

That's one ugly retail box, not that I wouldn't mind owning it :p And this is the cheaper, lower clocked version Revival. The more expensive and faster dual slot cooling Gladiator was shown in World Cyber Games. Those few capasitors don't reflect too much confidence to me :/

Better hope your monitor supports centered timings, otherwise you're screwed using that widescreen TV on ATI :)

Thats what i did. instead of whining about it and thinking, i've had close to a year with an awesome card and maxing out every game i've thrown at it. Someone said the 7900/x1950 was the best value... but the 8800 is the first 'true' value HIGH end card, not midrange. Normally high end cards cost a lot more, for less benefit - but the 8800 is still kicking ass today.

Not sure about that, when the Pro came out last year the special edition 7900GTO came out also, the GTO is a downclocked 512MB 7900GTX that clocked beyond GTX speeds.....in the UK it was the same price as the 1950Pro on release and it was F A S T!!!!

this will beat the 2900 right?

Supposidly not the 2900XT no but as DaMulta said, it's still speculation, although I beleive this is a card is to take on the 8800GTS and the new 8800GT so upper mid which would suggest it wont beat the 2900XT.

Speculation suggests the the 2950 will be a little faster than the new 8800GT but that same speculation suggests that the new GT should have more overclocking headroom......my guess is......I havent a clue!

isn't the best value atm the x800's? they seems to be getting along fairly well for their old-ass specifications. hell, they're like cavemen in the olympics. you're not going to bet on them, but they'll be there.
