We get back into the popular Drop headphones collaboration game today with the Aeon Closed X. This is a closed-back, over-ear planar magnetic set made by US-based Dan Clark Audio, that adopts a purposeful dampening material-driven tonality and clever build/design to make for a highly comfortable and relaxing sound experience.

I just checked and it's selling for $399 right now. To be honest, those negatives are easily overshadowed by the positves at that price.

yeah that seems fair

I own this headphone for about half a year now, I quite like it, it goes low, seals well, comfortable, but you do lose that ermm slam that dynamics have, it goes really low but it does not slam.

so the sound is quite different form headphones to speaker setup, but I like thhe detail it does, its clear and separates well

$500 for a slightly better pair of Aeon is a good price IMO. I had the original Aeons and they were pretty good but the Aeon 2s are just a step up all around. Hopefully DCA introduces their meta-material to the next iteration of the Aeon lineup as I've been impressed what the technology can do in headphones like the VZR model one.

DCA Expanse Stealth are probably the single best closed back cans on the market IMO especially for highly technical and fast music (blackened/melodic tech death like Demon King and Inferi), the ZMF Verite VC have finally been dethroned in that regard.

Yessir, their latest flagship. I'm clearly too sleep deprived right now.
