I have a 6750xt Mech. It isn't loud or hot. It is msi's budget line though.

Oh thanks. Why is the Mech last though? It seems the most compatible with my case :(
It has the weakest cooler and there more be more features like fan headers and RGB missing.

Usually least amount of effort in terms of PCB/VRM and cooling quality (fan noise and temps).

Budget and reference designs aren't totally unusable, I might add - one just has to put up with more fan noise and/or heat, and less overclocking headroom compared to bigger, more expensive models.

Anyone playing wow in here ?
Cos i know there quite a lot of user reports of gpu driver crashes and system freezes right now.
Been testing gpu in superposition for 8 hours no issues and 12+ hours in heaven now.
Getting amazing temps at +15% power limit
1671323501095.png

Its cold here tho :( don't wanna use MPT yet unless im sure its 100% gpu driver issue and my gpu being healthy
Think wow is having AMD gpu issues right now older drivers get less gpu driver crashes tho anyway so far only happens in wow but im very paranoid cos of past driver issues, new driver is way more stable tho and one of the issues got fixed was this issue the MPO flicker, i did not even realize this was the flicker they meant some users where having.
But it happens on 22.5.1 for example if hardware accelerated webviews are on

On this specific page when resizing from big to small doing it abnormally and for 2 minutes causes gpu driver time out or blackscreen

in a way whatsapp video calls has similar issue but instead it has huge slowdown and stutter and vsync being on causes drag lag issues atleast the old app did, the new app seems to have moved it within the video call window instead of the window it self, anyway its shocking no one ever reproduced whatsapp issue but i discovered some apps play a role in triggered blackscreens like rtss, if this does not run it takes considerably longer to trigger but for it to trigger you must have stutter and slow downs which may be only happening on windows 11 not windows 10.
Anyway hoping next driver hits soon with more known issues, 22.11.2 more stable then 22.5.1 technically speaking but not there yet, hopefully AMD has the right idea now whats wrong, feels like if been to stuborn to test windows 10 all this time and been suffering as result, the video linked from imgur may only be happening on windows 11 as well

edit:: ended up doing 24 hour run heaven benchmark no problem even getting no errors with 1 hour vram test right after now running port royal in a loop 63 loops 2 hour run almost.

I have a 6800 XT and Blizzard just recently let me know I have a 3 day trial to try to out the new expansion, never bought it, but I was planning to give the 3 day trial a chance soon. I may do that. I will report back if I have any issues or not.

I have reference 6700 XT and undervolted Voltage Vmax 1050 in MorePowerTool (power tab) then use overclock in radeon software when ingame (per game profile) and set 2600 Mhz min to 2700 Mhz gpu clocks. Result is cool, less power (always below 155 watts), fan are quiet, and generally very satisfying, stable.

Expect gpu driver freezes and crashes there many reports of this atleast on latest gpu drivers, but dont let that stop you from trying Dragonflight is surprisingly good so far.

Thanks alot for the info fellas : i ended up with a used 6600xt for cheap. Its also performing quite well in my FT02. Seem's i got lucky because my best gfx score puts me at number 5 for all 6600xt's : https://www.3dmark.com/fs/29159398

Im currently at 2900/2300 stable. Ive also applied Igor's adjustment's :

Power limit to 160 -- Is it worth going higher? Its definitely pulilng more than 160 according to Afterburner
TDC limits - 127 and 25. I probably shouldnt play with these too much?
MVDD at 1400 - Go to 1450 or is that a bad idea?
And ofc the FCLK AT 1980 - Whats the consensus on going above 2000?

It averages around 65 degree's and the hotspot doesn't go above 95 so i think i have some more room to work with.

@b0uncyfr0 Here are my 3DMark results (from when I had 5600X). 2833/2933 Core, 2250 VRAM, 155W in MPT, 186W max +20% offset, FCLK 2000, 130A GFX (default on my card) and 25A SoC.
For me MVDD 1400 didn't improve stability for higher VRAM clock. Going above 190W PPT isn't beneficial, could even be detrimental in some temp limited situations.

Congrats, I wish you a long and enjoyable use of the card! :)

First of all, forget about Afterburner. Adrenalin's built-in tweaking tool serves your needs more than enough. I don't overclock (I have a reference 6750 XT which pretty much runs up to its limits at stock), but if I did, I would first apply an auto undervolt, then see how far the core clock goes. The values you asked about are advanced deep-level stuff that's best left for the card/driver to handle.

just letting you know I am on day 2 of my WoW Dragonflight free trial, with my 6800 xt, I have had 0 crashes and everything has been rock solid, completely maxed out with vsync on (raytracing is off) 165 fps 165hz 1440p.

not a single crash in about 10 hours or so of gameplay, I am really enjoying leveling my Drakthyr or w.e it is called. I don't think I will main it, but its been a fun little trial. I am still not sure yet if I will pay the 50 for the expansion or not yet, if the story hooks me we will see, I still have 3 levels to go or a day and half of time left... before I cap out.

so if it impresses me by then I will buy it, I do think it looks great though. WoW graphics have come a long way. I like the unique look of it still, especially being as polished as it is.

I am on a clean install of Win 11 and latest drivers.

If had no crashes for the first 3 days my self either its pretty random you may even get no crashes for a week and then start crashing dialy suddenly anyway hopefully you wont run into that... anyway chances are AMD will list known issue since its common issue, reports if seen are often on full AMD rig.

Thanks. You were right - Once i undervolted, that pushed me into the 32k range. The only issues i have atm with adrenaline are :

It forgets all tuning settings when rebooted - whyyy...
Fan profiles dont work - another bummer.

Little annoyances i hope i can figure out..Adrenaline is def better than Afterburner for me atm.

Oh Interesting - your core clock's are extremely good

It seems my max core is just under 2900 in adrenaline. Giving it 1.075v (1.05v is also stable), makes no difference:(

This seem's to be my current sweet spot. In game. It's hovering just under 2850 when gaming.
Core Min/Max - 2775/2885
Mem - 2260 (Fast timings)
Vcore - 1.05
Power limit +20 & the additional mods from morepowertool

Lets see if i can squeeze more of the core. Ill compare some runs against your scores :peace:

For me, it only resets the settings if Windows crashed or didn't shutdown properly. Check Event Viewer if there are any shutdown/restart related issues.

As for fan profiles, my issue was that I couldn't lower the fan speed below 47% (I think) on my Gigabyte Gaming OC Pro. You can try playing around in Fan settings/limits in MorePowerTool.

Regarding my GPU frequency, I haven't undervolted- kept the stock 1150mV, might help you achieve higher clocks if you're not temperature limited.

That's so strange, I was having the exact same issues with my 6950XT for a while until it just suddenly decided to work flawlessly one day. Wouldn't save power target or clock target but it would save my memory speed and voltage settings. Also would sometimes randomly change it to the Rage Mode profile..

Then one day it just decided to start saving everything properly and I haven't had an issue since, have no clue what coaxed it into working though...

The latest adrenaline - 22.11.2 - Hellhound 6600xt : https://www.powercolor.com/product?id=1623916068

Im on the OC bios - i doubt its that, but ill try the quiet bios. Maybe that'll play ball.

Edit: Ok, that didnt work but i figured out the profiles. Seem's adrenaline was adding the fan speed's from the bios ontop of what was shown. Reducing the limits fixes that.

Edit 2 : Fixed the tuning not kicking in ; had to remove afterburner :banghead:

For me, it only resets the settings if Windows crashed or didn't shutdown properly. Check Event Viewer if there are any shutdown/restart related issues.

As for fan profiles, my issue was that I couldn't lower the fan speed below 47% (I think) on my Gigabyte Gaming OC Pro. You can try playing around in Fan settings/limits in MorePowerTool.
I dont see any issues in windows event's. I cant lower it past 35% but thats fine - id just like to control it.

I saw on other forums disabling fast boot might fix it - unfortunately it didnt do anything for me.

I have been really happy with my MSI Mech OC 6750 XT. Some warned me it would be loud because it was the low end version. It is very quiet even when stressed. I don't think the 6750 XT produces enough heat for this cooler.

Hmm, im alil confused - adrenaline has `1.015` locked into the profile (global). Its applied. And yet - when im playing Zero Dawn, im seeing the core voltage go as high as 1.085 (according to hwinfo)

Am i missing something here?

Voltage in the driver is only a "target" and not a hard limit. Specify your voltage in MPT if you want to hard limit it to an upper value.

I'm glad you solved it. :)

A message for everyone: Guys, never ever use Afterburner, or any other third-party software on Radeon cards! Unlike Nvidia's text editor from Windows 95, the AMD driver has everything you need. :)

If had no crashes for the first 3 days my self either its pretty random you may even get no crashes for a week and then start crashing dialy suddenly anyway hopefully you wont run into that... anyway chances are AMD will list known issue since its common issue, reports if seen are often on full AMD rig.

I found this channel (Ancient Gameplays) on YouTube, and he seems to have more on how to fix issues with AMD drivers then with any other brand. Here is his latest video with 15 tips on how to fix the most common issues, like using AMD's driver uninstall tool before you install newer drivers, which I never knew they had their own tool for this.

So I've been thinking more and more about delving into MPT, but I don't know...if it's worth it?

Example, the highest I can clock my 6900 is 2700/2800 on the core and 2110 on the memory on air. Anything over is unstable, would MPT let me push either further and be stable? I also don't know the extent of what it can and can't do/what I should and shouldn't mess with. Will I be going down another overlocking rabbit hole?

I don't mind if the answer to that is 'yes', I just want to know what I'm in for. I have a general idea but I'd love to hear from any of you currently using it!
