Palit's GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is a cost-optimized custom-design of the RTX 4070 Ti, which means it can sell for less than other variants. Palit still invested where it matters, the cooler is more powerful than what ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte offer on their cards, with excellent, balanced fan settings.

Fantastic review. I love the professional tone compared to the emotional and outraged style of other reviewer "celebrities" in the industry, like GN's absolutely unprofessional troll review that came out today for instance.

I mean if you have something real to say, then actually come up with arguments against the "absolutely unprofessional troll" remarks from GN.

Great review, but where are the cost savings? Are there any 4070 Tis that cost $799?

It was horrible. I'm still cringing. way too emotional and one sided. He took 95% of the video to bash on the price. Not a single word about noise, temperature, power draw or transients. Not a single word on the absolutely innovative tweaks to RT and new generation memory tweaks which lower CPU loads. It was an absolutely horrible review, and I truly believe that his success is getting to his head. I want more humbleness from a reviewer.

That's the benefit you have when you don't need the bigger company.
as someone who is in the market for a new videocard, I expect professionalism and I don't give a damn about a 20 minutes of price whining. I can't time travel anywhere, I need a new card NOW and need professionals to show me their skills in analyzing said product and compare it to other products. Steve pulled a way too personal, emotional cocky blog post that was useless in its entirety. very disappointed, he has become a social media celebrity who is expected to do silly clown videos and talk for 20 minutes on a whiny voice. People applaud him for saying "oh no this is extremely expensive wow applause please" while selling stupid modmats for 130 USD plus shipping. Who will review his overpriced shit?

ermm he actually praised the transients sooo yeah... did you even watch the review?
and of course he bashed the 3x no asterixis claim into the ground, he does not ever want to see companies straight up lying like that ever again and he can only do this by holding them accountable as much as he can, which is, again, by bashing it into the ground and repeating it in the future, no different with blowing up PSU's from Gigabyte, scams by Newegg, the fire of NZXT etc.

The pricing structure is the same story, there should be outrage and under no circumstance must the completely inflated prices of other sku's somehow be used to justify this new cards better price, because you are comparing to absolutely Ludacris prices.

Noise is not particularly interesting as he specifically talks about a partner model but GN wants to review the 4070Ti as a whole.
Temperature is kinda the same, its another immense cooler on a card that uses less juice then the 30 series, so yeah temperatures are going to be more then fine, the cooler is actually completely overbuild for all 40 series gpus.

I dont think you have much of an argument so far.

And wanting a youtube reviewer to be humble towards a mega corporation currently actively lying and price coughing its consumers.....I mean....idk what to say about that really.
Level headed sure, but I already addressed why they feel its needed to bash this point home.

companies always lie and exaggerate, nothing new under the sun. they have to oversell product, to ramp up sales. also, is there anyone who buys stuff simply by watching these silly corpo presentations? they are irrelevant, and getting outraged over them is getting stale in 2023. The lie wasn't that far fetched though, the 4070 Ti comes close to the 3090 an it is impressive in itself. I don't know how they came up with the 3x figure though. Maybe someone at the PR department needs to get fired.

blowing up PSU's from Gigabyte
that's a much more brutal offense, I don't know how you can compare it to this.

Well I guess we agree to disagree. I don't want to convince you of anything. This 4070 Ti GN review is a matter of taste then, and I found it apalling and useless.

Even if it does not apply to you, you should see that it serves a purpose, put yourself in anothers shoes.
I dont play CoD or Fortnite, they dont appeal to me, but that does not mean I will call them bad games as seemingly they do a great job for a LOT of people out there.

so even though you dont care apparently about what you get for your money and only care about what you get, (in which case I would say get a 4090), does not mean that is not of immense use to others.

and on the Gigabyte comparison, thats a bit of a reading comprehension thing, I was comparing it to GN's style of repeating problems like that in future videos so as to make sure people dont just forget what companies have done in the past, both good and bad.
So I was not comparing immense lying in a performance chart to psu's blowing up, I was saying this is how GN works with problems like these with companies, verbally condemning the behavior and repeating it in the future.

In the review (that I still dont think you actually watched fully) he for example also once again mentioned how the 7900xt was a greedy upsell, a repeat from the review of that card and it also shows how your claim of the review being one-sided is flawed.

now here I can disagree with you, strongly. It was a bad review, and it only serves GN's fanbase, who love his "quirky" style. it's entertainment, and not serious hardware journalism. Please compare it to W1zzards style, just for a moment. I learned 1000x more information from his review than from GN's, and it is hard to say this, because I used to love his reviews, especially his case reviews. I'm seeing a very bad, downward spiraling trend of unprofessional, cocky, self important content that lost its purpose. If I want cheap entertainment, or a content creator who has a robin hood syndrome, I can watch plenty of other channels.

Nvidia really doesn't need to lie to sell product. Ada is a good product that would have sold well at the right price. Zen 1, 2 and 3 are all great examples of a company honestly presenting it's product's performance and getting massive sales. I have never understood why Nvidia always skews it's marketing when it really does not need to. People are upset in this particular instance because the claims are more outlandish than usual. Their 3x the performance of the 3090 Ti claim, them using DLSS to calculate power efficiency, ect. False advertising is illegal for a reason. Yes Nvidia presentation are, as you said, silly corpo presentations but IMO they went too crazy with their marketing this time.

In regards to the performance of the 4070 Ti, typically the xx70 class GPU does match last gen flagship performance. The xx70 Ti should be faster. What we have instead is a 4070 Ti that should be a 4070 at twice the price. At the end of the day, the 4070 Ti does not increase performance per dollar and thus it inherently brings nothing new to the market. This is supposed to be an affordable GPU tier and yet the 4090 is providing more value so something is definitely wrong with the pricing.

marketing messed up brutally, I agree. I think there will be consequences this time. but look at this way: In actual reviews, the 4070 Ti prooved to be better than the 3090 Ti in SOME games. That's enough for any random megacorp to weave a whole marketing campaign onto. This is how the world works now, megacorp can do anything. Facebook and google was powerful enough to pressure the EU into discarding trying to tax them. we arrived at the cyberpunk dystopia I think.

You mentioned AMD, didn't they pull the same with the new 7900 XT? Presentations made it look like something it's not. There was some minor short lived outrage and everyone moved on, because poor old AMD needs massive support.

What do you mean? The 2070 was way slower than the Titan Xp, and the 3070 was slower than the Titan RTX

Yep and with Zen 4 to a lesser extent as well.

People remember, it's just that Nvidia has too many hold my beer moments.

What do you mean? The 2070 was way slower than the Titan Xp, and the 3070 was slower than the Titan RTX

The 3070 was within 5% of the 2080 Ti so it did follow the trend. The 2070 was an exception and the 2000 series in general was probably the worst Nvidia GPU generation next to Fermi. A very small performance increase, power consumption increase, and a large price increase across the board.

Titan class cards are not consumer cards, hence why they are not part of Nvidia's consumer cards on their website, their driver page has them in a separate category, and why Nvidia advertised them to professionals.

The 1070, 970, 770, and 670 are all examples of x70 class GPUS that were either within earshot of the last gen flagship or faster then it (particularly the 670, which was a good 13% faster than the 580).

I like how this one's PCB is the only one that is a normal size. A custom block on this would make a great SFF GPU.

so you meant the second to best flagships then:) Well.. to be honest, I never noticed this correlation, I always fished in the muddy waters of midrange xx50 and xx60. It looks like the "xx70-previous gen flagship" thing has come to an end. It doesn't have to be set in stone right? xx70 doesn't need to destroy flagships til the end of time.

Who knows why. Most people will say Nvidia greed, others speculate technological barriers, manufacturing costs and/or running of time. who knows

I'm just a mere mortal, but you sir, you are the benchmark of hardware journalism. I've been reading TPU for more than 15 years and you have no idea how bad it is to research some hardware and not finding it reviewed by TPU. It's a mini heart attack.

The format, the details, your small additions and industry remarks, everything is the literal golden ratio, it's art. Video reviews simply cannot compete. Nobody can. Thanks for your hard work, it's eternally appreciated.

To me, the Palit is the best looking of the cards reviewed! Great review as usual W1zzard!

Oh boy, this thread went emotional.

I actually like 4070 Ti, and as a present owner of 3070, am trying to see how much improvement would I get if I go with this model.

The thing is I bought mine 3070 for 499, and at the moment this Palit 4070Ti OC card is going for 909 (only checking in stock prices here locally), which is quite a big step up in price, even compared to 3070 Ti OEMs.
If I buy it I am paying almost double for about 50% uplift in performance. That is not progress. This at 700, would be a real deal. Maybe even at 750 ( including inflation, higher costs for Nvidia, etc...).

But 900 ( real street price for in stock gpus) is just too much. I think I will pass. Maybe get cheap second hand 3090 Ti
