hi guys, i need to buy a gpu !
maybe it's the worst time to buy a video card, but sadly my 2080 ti broke after 4 years of heavy use.
I wanted a gpu that does stable 100fps in 4k with ultra details. RT is not a priority, I prefer a gpu that consumes little and has low temperatures. I live in a hot place and having a gpu that heats up a lot is not fun.
unfortunately I know very well that it takes more than 1k dollars, but it doesn't matter, unfortunately the world goes like this.
thank u !!

I like the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6750 XT. It's easily a 220W card when running the latest/hardest stuff, but if you raise the fan RPM and disable zero-RPM, it shouldn't get too hot.

Unfortunately, I don't know how it will hold up with no air conditioning at all. Maybe the RX 6650 XT is the best bet.

i probably prefer something from the latest generations. i wish i didn't want to buy a gpu for the next 3 or 4 years. so if i go too far back with the generations i might have problems later

the latest generations are 4070/80/90 and 7900XT/X

4070 Ti is a 1440p card that sometimes suffers 10-20% penalty in 4K depending on the title because of its 192 bit bus, RX 6800 is the minimum requirement ~$500

Or you could wait the cutdown 4070 sitting between 3070 Ti and 3080 that is rumored to soon enter production.

4080 or 4090 for 4K this gen. A 3080ti can also do 4K 100fps in many titles (no RT). However these are all hot cards

Yeah and I want the tooth fairy to deliver a giant bag of money to my doorstep. What you're asking doesn't make sense. The more performance you want out of your card the more power it takes and more heat it produces. Best you could do might be a 6650XT or 3060Ti if you're super concerned about power/temps.

I sure hope you're okay with 300W, because all of the GPUs that can come close to or exceed 100fps at 4K are all going to be 300W or more. Obviously 40 series and RX7900 are new so not that much is known about how far they'll reliably undervolt, but if the XT and XTX are any indication, don't expect miracles.

It's all a matter of perspective, you may need to adjust yours. Without A/C in the summer, I would be uncomfortable after just one hour of gaming with a 5900X and 2060 Super. That's a 180W card. You may have to either accept the consequences of performance, or install air con.

The 4090 would probably be the most efficient and still the fastest out of all those cards if heavily undervolted and underclocked, but even then you'd probably still be at what, 250-300W? I don't think the efficiency you're asking for is simply possible at the moment.

I'm sorry, maybe I expressed myself badly.
I don't want a supersonic jet that consumes 50w.
I was referring to the same performance, I prefer the one that consumes less and produces less heat. I hope I was clearer.
the 4090 is beyond all logic, I'm oriented towards a 4080 or an xtx. in raster they go beyond 100 fps and in rt the 4080 is better, even if for now I'm not particularly interested in RT, since I don't have such a sensitive eye to see a ghostly shadow on a wall.

I also ask another thing, all of you have talked about air conditioning, what would be the temperature range of the room to make a PC work in optimal conditions and make it last even longer over time?

If you don't want RT it's 4070 Ti or 7900xt per this chart.

You might have other considerations, if you're used to one brand or the other, multi monitor etc.

They're both riduc expensive of course.

Hmm, +3-4 years and 4K with sustainable gaming with not les than 100 FPS. Include next generation AAA titles from 2026-2027? Mission impossible with card below rtx 4090, 4090 Ti, or even future Titan ADA with 48GB VRAM

3070ti, 3080 for budget. I don't know much about team red, so won't advise one for these reso.

6650 and 3060 ti are 2K cards lmfao... but yeah, 3060ti could 4K in old games lol

Honestly it seems like a flip of the coin decision.

I'd get the RTX 4080 if I had the money. Although the RTX 4080 has less VRAM than the 7900 XTX. AIB's seem to have decent coolers for both (YMMV).

AMD acknowledged some of the Made by AMD (MBA) 7900 XTX cards have a cooler defect. So don't get that unless you're going to put an aftermarket cooler on it.

both have their strong points, the 4080 is better with RT on, the xtx is better in raster. consumption and temperatures are almost in the same situation. the xtx, however, costs less. I've heard of the problem, if I take it I'll take one custom.

If you don't want RT it's 4070 Ti or 7900xt per this chart.

I had 2 gpu, the 280 gigabyte and the 2080 ti msi x trio.both probably dead due to the temperature of the room.but now i will solve this problem with the next one.amd intrigues me,the 70 series is not bad,too bad the price is as usual high

I know that the mission is almost impossible, but with the 2080 ti (card of over 4 years ago) I played mw2 in 4k all ultra with rt off at about 85/95 fps. I was on 100 fps when I played on the 3440x1440 monitor. in theory I could do them even with the latest generation cards.

4090 out of economic reach

Unfortunately that's not how it works. If the average is 100fps, half of the games (more, realistically speaking) will NOT be getting steady 100fps. Ironically, a 4070Ti would do just fine, thanks to DLSS3.

6800XT, 6900XT, 7900XT and call it a day.

Well, if you want to look forward and consider trends, vs just averaging 100 FPS and ending up with a LOT of games not managing that going forward, the 4090 is currently your best option.

4080 is the most efficient choice for you.
We have several reviews of different models.

Surprised no one objected to this. The 4070 ti despite its 192-bit bus demolishes not only the 6800, but the 6800xt in the chart. Cannot compare older gen bit-bus to newer cards with more advanced architectures and specs. Also has DDR6x a opposed to DDR6 which compensates in bandwidth for the slightly smaller bit-bus. Cannot see any evidence that a 6800xt would outperform the 4070ti in a single scenario at 4k due to its bit-bus.. It doesnt necessarily scale best at 4k vs the newest cards, but certainly leaves all older gen cards in the dust.

there is nothing to object, for all intents and purposes 4070 Ti is a 3090 Ti on a 192 bit bus with 48 MB cache that has to saturate the same 40 Tflops, therefore in 4K it just craps up.

As for the other camp, 6800 is a better deal overall compared to the weaker version. the regular 6700 Xt goes for 359, but I wouldn't use it in 4K.

the most ideal would be the RTX 3080 Ti-3090 or 4080 AMD RX 6900 XT or 7900 XT.

If you want 100fps in all of today's games at 4K ultra settings, nothing exists that will do that yet. The 4090 gets close but there are a handful of games like BL3, CP2077, Dying Light 2, Warhammer III which even a 4090 cannot achieve 100fps averages in.

You were right that now is a bad time to buy a new GPU - we're right in the middle of a generational transition. The midrange cards that usually shift the price/performance curve for the whole market aren't out yet, and the halo cards are shockingly expensive still, coming with early-adopter tax.

If I were in your situation I'd pick up a used 3070 on ebay as a stopgap and reassess the new GPU situation in 6-12 months. You're unlikely to lose much money on a 3070; If you buy one now for under $400 you should be able to get the majority of your money back by selling it on again in 6+ months.

a question that I hope is not a stupid question, my monitors only have g-sync, could I still get a radeon?

If they are old-school dedicated G-Sync modules, then Freesync won't work, no. Freesync (and new G-Sync) use the proper VESA VRR standard. Original G-Sync was some kind of bastard FPGCA module that worked only with Nvidia cards.

What exact model of monitors do you have?
