I wonder why they bother with 1440p in 2023 is beyond me, where I live there are too many chinese 1440p cheap monitor with high refresh rate, and we still dont have any 4k high refresh monitor here, reason we dont have a 4k high refresh rate yet is because the chinese are on 1440p, these companies like MSI should focus on niche market 4k and beyond if not they will lose to the chinese, if i was their ceo i would focus only on 4k because they can get some premium price on there yet, if the chinese get there then gameover.

But is there an actual need for it besides sounding good? When it comes to gaming, it means having to pay a higher AMD/Nvidia tax just to view higher detailed game graphics at a higher resolution. The only things that physically change with regards to higher resolutions is screen size & how far away from it you need to sit unless you're Mr. Magoo and sit really really close to it. As far as I'm concerned, 1440p is the sweet spot for all of my needs.

There are a lot of high refresh 4K monitors now, just not with OLED. Plenty of people are't going to buy ridiculously expensive gpu's to run 4K. 1440p is the sweet spot now for affordable gaming IMO. However, I've been on 1440p for 10 years and want to step up to 4K for photo editing among other things, but still want to game. I want 120Hz and high colour gamut, HDR1000+. Alas those monitors cost a bomb, so you have to lose the HDR1000 and at best get HDR600. Just waiting for that one killer product that lowers the price of entry into mini-led.

How much more crappy LCD 1440p monitors are they going to make? In 32-inch size no less, at 1440p, are they insane? Not even mentionning QD-OLED, where are all the high-end mini LED 4K 32-inch monitors goddamit. It's 2023 and the monitors that fit this descritpion are a total number of 2: the Neo G8 and Neo G7. If you take into account the Neo G8 scanline problem, that only leaves the Neo G7. That's one monitor. One. The 4K gaming marketing campaigns that we've been hammered by do not match the monitor landscape AT ALL. We might as well forget the desk and chair, go back to the couch, glue our keayboards and mousepads on a peice of wood, and use a 4K TV instead

this looks like the rich people lamentation wall. Why would you want a 1000usd 27'' oled, ips is still fine. The same for 4k, so you have to buy a 2000usd gpu every year?

IPS 1440p is the most desirable monitors now.

There is much more to do with a gaming monitor than playing the latest AAA game at ultra for god's sake.
You call LCDs a rich people's thing, it's funny because gamers from the early 2000s thought the exact opposite when LCDs were replacing their CRTs which had perfect motion clarity that even OLEDs can't emulate, no input lag and and deep blacks. LCDs have been a revolution, and have been a standard for almost 2 decades, and yet they're only a poor transition in terms of picture and motion quality.

DLSS Quality my friend. DLSS Quality renders at 1440p. You can have a 4K monitor with all its perks and play with the framerate of 1440p, or 1080p if you so desire. It's not like the old days when interpolation looked like crap and was unplayable. Now try watching a 4K/1080p movie, TV episode, YouTube video, or worse, play on a console like the Switch, on a 1440p monitor. It'll be an ugly upscale no matter what. 1080p was the old standard for everything, 4K is the new, and has been for years. As for games that don't have DLSS/FSR, they're old enough so that it's viable at 4K with mid-tier GPUs. And if not, slightly less ultra settings will do the trick. I'm not saying that 1440p needs to die, I'm saying that 4K is in a much worse state at the high-end spot than 1440p was when it was king 8-9 years ago, even though 4K has been on everyone's lips for 6 years.

This seems nearly identical to MSI's existing MPG321QRF-QD monitor, the only notable difference being that this new monitor is only 170Hz instead of 175Hz. It seems like this may be just a move to a lower product line to make room for an as yet to be announced new MPG monitor in the same size bracket. Possibly OLED or Mini-LED?
