plenty of regular boards, but few ITX

I can get one asrock consistently for about $230 Au which is... okay. kinda.

(Example listing since it has detailed specs on the page)
Buy ASRock B550M-ITX/ac ITX Motherboard [B550M-ITX/AC] | PC Case Gear Australia

You can tell what you're getting there, and it aint what i lost with the B450 going kaput

or for ~$20 less

I only wanna run an undervolted 5800x on this thing. Nothing crazy. But i dont want a board that will throttle when ambients go up, or have dumbass design decisions like the power connector being below the HDMI connector?!?
Man that sucks. :( All the ROG B450-I boards I see look like they are shipping from china, even to here in the US.

Either of those boards are "taking a chance" so to speak, with a 5800X.... I'd do the China, looks like 272$ AU moneys.
Buying from China might be sketchy, I've gotten hardware from abroad without issues in the past though. Just takes forever to get it to the US.

I have the Asrock one sitting in a box right now. It's okay, but I think I only paid like $150. NIC choice not good and wifi is utter garbage.

I like Gigabyte's general design sensibilities better, but it's a) A520 and b) I'd still rather have the extra Vcore phases of the ASRock. 4x50A is no bueno, I had that on the B450I Aorus, the A520I is pretty much a copy paste.

Be careful with the M.2 heatsink on the ASRock, it can do scary things to your drives in a single screw turn.

I did some weird dumb shit, even ripping the socket in half, replacing the damaged pins with those from my spare and it didnt help
Whatever went up with those USB ports was the early warning sign, and the dead bug was prolly related

Seeing what i can find on the second hand market, as these new prices arent good - and as stated above, the only two boards in stock are not good ones, even for stock speeds

Oh and after the run in the dishwasher, it turns 1/4 of TPU was really gross and sticky

I really, really want to know how that board became that disgusting. But also, I kinda don't.

A bug got stuck in thermal pad oil, then got eaten and smeared around

The rest was dishwasher + dregs of thermal pads (This was all cleaned off via toothbrush and goo gone before attempting power on)

That spare parts CPU socket is what i used to lap my CPUs, so it's full of leftover IHS - it wasnt part of the system, i just stole parts from it
