Funny you think many people care about RT perf. It's pretty much useless unless you buy a 4090 for 1440p RT gaming, and STILL accept dips below 100 fps. Or use DLSS/FSR to run the game at even lower resolution. RT destroys performance no matter what brand you use. Only the most expensive milking cards will be able to do RT at all, and not for long.
2080 Ti is weak as hell for RT gaming. My 3080 Ti barely does 1080p RT on high settings. POINTLESS. RT was 100% pointless on 2000 series, way too slow.
RT = Useless gimmick feature. It will matter in 5+ years, maybe.
For now, it's just a gimping tech, that will make cards obsolete faster. Consoles did not adopt it, they run software RT. So it's propietary Nvidia gimping tech on PC. Nvidia pay on PER GAME basis to get it implemented, just like PhysX back in the days. No money for devs = No RT. Sad but true.
It makes next to zero difference in actual gaming, because you won't really notice the difference when you ACTUALLY PLAY instead of standing still. However framerate will be 100-200% lower.
In some games, RT ON actually looks worse as well.
7900XTX beats 4080 by 5% in 1440p and overclocking headroom is much bigger as well, 10% can be gained.
1440p is still the sweet spot and especially now with 300-400 Hz IPS panels. I will take 200+ fps any day over 50-100 fps at 4K .. or 20-40 fps with RT ON - LMAO...
